  • TheArt0fSilence you have proved my point. The Government is wasting our money on this feel good stuff when in reality all the sensitivity training in the world is not going to make people more accepting of others. The Government needs to get out of our lives and let us be responsible for ourselves and our families. More than ever children need less of this propaganda and more of an education in things that really matter.

  • @edithhurd Cool story bro. To bad nobody cares.

  • This is really nice in theory, but it is not happening in reality. In other words this video is the Governments PR campaign. My first question is where is this school. My guess is that it would be in Edmonton because Edmonton gets more funding than the rest of Alberta. How do I know this;I have a special needs child, if I lived in Edmonton my child could have gotten more speech therapy and could have even gone to a special school like my nieces son got.

  • To continue, instead what I had to do was to homeschool my child so that I could get funding for speech therapy for him, and have actually paid for a private speech therapist out of my own pocket because I couldn't get the help I needed from the school.

I then moved to a small community and ended up keeping my son at home because I was told my the people in the community that the local school used the extra funding that they got for special needs children to fill in the gap for the other kids.

  • Again to continue. The special needs kids were just mostly left to themselves because of the heavy burden that was placed on the teachers with overcrowded classrooms. This was a few years ago before the budget cuts. The last two years Edmonton has significantly cut funding from local school boards and in turn the school boards have cut the funding for extra help given to special needs kids. The teachers are being asked to make silk purses out of sows ears. They try to do the best they can.

  • Yes diversity and inclusion are wonderful, if funded properly. Perhaps the Alberta government could have taken the money it took to make this self-serving video to hire a few more desperately needed education assistants.

  • So proud to be part of the diversity!
