@LLB61959 Um he said that crime was decreasing, not increasing lol and it is decreasing. When you live in a big city, crime in general to some extent should be expected. There is no way around it.
@LLB61959 I live in phoenix arizona for now, and crime is bad here but its one of the biggest cities so that is expected. you just have to watch your surroundings and be weary of the time of day you go out as with any other big city. Show me a big city with a low crime rate...exactly, there is no such thing. Sorry that ATL was not for you but please know your facts before you speak negligently about my hometown.
Atlanta probably isn't the most picaresque city for a tourist, but to the locals, it's an awesome place. The dynamics are Atlanta are very "New South" and there's plenty to do so and see if you know a thing about the place. It's host to many, many different restaurants, The Fox, Centennial Olympic Park, the Georgia Aquarium, World of Coke, 15 of the Fortune 500 companies, the busiest airport in the world, and is right next to the beautiful Buckhead.
I don't know what some of y'all writing comments right here think. Atlanta is a beautiful city but like every other city has its worse neighborhood too. For example look at New York.
@panzerkilla Due to rising housing taxes, much of the ghetto is actually being driven out of Atlanta. There's been a sharp increase in the white population since 2010. Additionally, the crime rate in Atlanta has been decreasing for years. You'd be in more danger living in Seattle than you would here, according to recent years' data.
Of course, the crime happening near GSU and Tech is a bit unnerving...
@Lupehkun I hope there isnt too much crime going on around GSU because I just started going school there and have to walk around alone most of the time :\

Savannah,Ga should be the capital of Georgia, It was the first city founded in Georgia. It has so much history and culture in it. Visit downtown Savnnah you will know what I am talking about. There are trolley tours and horse buggies that you can ride. Atlanta is a very good city! :) But it is only known because of its values and stuff that they have there. :) Click on the Youtube search engine and type in Savannah,Ga and you will see a list of videos about the history! :) I still repp ATL!
@ManHeartless Atlanta beautiful? What? These are just pictures with the downtown area. The other parts of Atlanta are ghettos. Like the gypsy neighborhoods of a European city. I used to live in Atlanta. It's the most dangerous Southern city to live in. Now I'm living in Charlotte, NC. Definitely better than Atlanta.
@AndreiMichael You'd be hard pressed to find a city that doesn't have a ghetto in it. Have you been to Buckhead, it is the south's version of Beverly Hills.
