We played it again and they pretty much rendered everyone in the room temporarily deaf. Trombones with true musicality are kind of like wild okapi- we know they exist, but few have seen them...

But, anyway I believe that the trombone takes a lot of control to be able to play at this level of speed and technicality, especially for a high schooler. I mean I could back in high school, but then again I had insane attributes for a trombone player in high school. You should look up my old trombone solo called Glen Eden on youtube, (only trumpet found). I played it a lot faster though...

Try to learn double tounging... Tried it last year, now it's perfected.... Though some say it's not supposed to be done on a saxophone and that it produces a bad sound... Listen to Rudy Wiecroft.... or waste your time and learn to single tounge really fast....

Its a circus march if played fast and accurate like Fennell and eastmen and my hs did then its fine. Faster doesn't mess up articulation sloppy playing

As a high school band director now retired, I might ad that to play this or any of those wonderful old circus marches as well as the Eastman group or say the US Marine Corps Band I seriously doubt you played it as well and with correct intonation and articulation. Just be glad your directors pushed you hard enough to even get through a piece of this stature!
