This guy is an idiot! Granted a properly tuned engine and properly inflated tires do increase fuel efficentcy a minute amount. I was under the impression that drilling would aleviate the energy crisis, help unemployment and overall be good for the economy. That was before this sub-moronic monkey informed me that all I need to do is inflate my tires!!!
I don't think anyone ever said "all you need to do is inflate your tires" to solve our energy problems. That's ONE THING that might help. And almost everyone acknowledges that off-shore drilling wouldn't have an effect for years. But some people don't believe anything unless god or Rush tells them to.
HE MADE THIS STATMENT IN COPARISON TO OFF SHORE DRILLING! STOP TAKING WHAT HE SAID OUT OF CONTEXT RETARDS! IT'S ACTUALLY A FACT TOO! THATS THE FUNNIEST PART ABOUT IT. I COULD SEE IF HE MADE IT UP.... BUT IT'S ACTUALLY TRUE lol. REPUBLICANS ARE TRYING TO JUMP ON EVERYTHING THEY POSSIBLY CAN. THE MAN IS A FORCE TO BE RECKONED WITH. CAN'T DENY IT! OBAMA 08' Ya'll! WooooooooHHHHoooooo!!!!
senator obama voted in favor of the energy policy act of 2005 wish give tax reductions to several energy industries between those $4.3 billion for nuclear power $2.8 billion for fossil fuel production....wait a minute wasnt he against it? isnt that mccain energy plan?...obama = flip flopper.
**NO** Obama said that property tire influation would result is *AS MUCH* oil as McCain's drilling. Why does Keith love it ignore what Obama actually said. Obama said tire pressure would be *AS EFFECTIVE* as drilling.
Boo!! Liberals! thats only true if everyones tires werent inflated and everyone does. which most of amercians alredy are! and since when is rush a comedian?
Adolf Hitler had the support of eighty million Germans, sixty million French, the Dutch, the Danes, the Swiss and Italy... Hey Kate, are you one of the 70% of Americans who believe that the white haired Morgan Freeman snapped his fingers less than six thousand years ago and man appeared on the earth? I ain't no relative of a monkey! I eat at McDonalds and drive a SUV!
limbaugh has 20 million people per week listening..... doe Olberman even get one million? Olberman is a buffoon... MSNBC is number 22 on CABLE.. FOX is SIX :)
As T Boone Pickens said, one of the parts of the puzzle for energy independence is NATURAL GAS. Mr. Olberman, you could supply most of the natural gas needs of our country.
phineastbuster: "All make more money than they are worth and as a result could care less about the price of 'petrol'."
So are you saying KO shouldn't be talking about the "inflate your tires" dust-up because he couldn't possible care? (Notwithstanding his possible concern for the environment or for misleading people.)
Wildwilly1111: First, I answered you in the previous comment. I'm sorry you didn't understand my comment that "I drive like the wind". This means I drive.
KO, as you refer to him said, "Limbaugh and Hannity don't have any more personal concern about the price of a gallon of gas than I do, but I don't drive". That tells me he doesn't care about the price of a gallon of gas. This can't be any clearer.
I agree with the importance of keeping your tires inflated to the proper air pressure, your wheels aligned, your car tuned as recommended, in most cars, driving a little slower (some cars get better mileage at higher speeds, ie. my car gets better fuel economy at 75mph than at 55mph), etc. I want our politicians and Olbermann to remind us. My point was that Olbermann, Limbaugh, Hannity, etc. don't personally care because they have enough money that it doesn't effect them.
wildwilly1111: I have a Corvette and it turns 1600 rpms at 75miles an hour. Because it is aerodynamic and the way it is geared, it is better at 75. Above 75, the mileage goes down quickly.
All internal combustion engines get peak fuel efficiency at their peak torque/horsepower rpm range. It's a limited rpm range, hence, he goes over 75 with his vette & his mileage drops quickly.
Your right Keith O, you and the other talking heads make so much money you don't care about the cost of gas. Your $4,000,000 salary allows you to not drive. You have a limo.
I'm not sure what the point is here. He said he doesn't care about the price of gas--at least he's not pretending he isn't in the top 1% income bracket.
He's going after Limbaugh and Hannity because they are mocking Obama for saying something which is true.
I like the part of the Republican playbook used by Limbaugh/Hannity where you mock things that are true. Perhaps wishing they will change reality if they repeat their attacks...
Uh, you really think it's true that if we all had ideal tire inflation we would save more oil than we'd get from drilling in ANWR? Those were Obama's words.

Wildwilly1111: As Jack Nicholson said in "As Good as it Gets", "I drive like the wind!".
The other talking heads are O'Reilly, Hannity, Mathews, Blitzer, etc., etc., etc.
All make more money than they are worth and as a result could care less about the price of "petrol".

phineastbuster:
Thanks for the clarification. I will stipulate that you drive, and that KO isn't personally concerned about the price of fuel.
So why do you think KO called the Mccain campaign on the tire inflation kerfufel?
Because Mccain is wrong or misleading on the facts of tire pressure and fuel mileage?
Or because McCain attempted to grossly trivialize Obama's energy plan?
Do you know your fuel mileage and the effect of your tire pressure on it?
