WW song and made it even more famous for both germans and the allieds.. The fact is however, that it simply was composed by the soldier Hans Leip as a simple love song and nothing more or nothing less.

It's important to remember that this song by Hans Leip, AND originally recorded by Lale Andersen had NO connection whatsoever with the nazis. In fact Goebbels was very annoyed with this song, and moreorless forced Lale Andersen to record the song again in "march style".
