  • I would rather watch someones teeth being pulled out!

  • i know you probably know what your doing, but this breaks my heart

  • YOU IDIOT....never ever ever ever use a soldering iron, i don't know why everyone does it!! It can and will melt the binding, dehydrate, hump or even burn the fretboard. Slap yourself. Again. Harder. Keep going. Now you've learned.

  • Yeah, it can and it will. So let us know, when you figure out why so many people do it. Is everybody out of step except you?

  • I'm just saying, i would rather go through a little bit more labor and have it come out perfect than damage the guitar...

  • Well, I've done it both ways. There is probably as much risk in pulling them "cold." In this (as in other things) "touch" is paramount, especially in knowing how much heat is enough. I'm a little uncomfortable with just how much heat he seems to use here, but I wasn't actually there...I use an iron with a rheostat so I can control the tip temperature.

Also, in this case you'd be the first workman to ever touch the guitar who was worried about perfection. Visit the Gibson plant sometime.

  • probably he's refretting it

  • Is this a shock video? I was.
