  • What ever you used worked out great for the vid! Keep them coming!

  • this may be able to work now. But I would use different sizes and styles of clay pipes because you can fire them in a stove or fire and it will remove all the stains and clean them, So you could reuse the same pipes.

  • Not everyone wants to be a worthless burnout like you......

  • I should have added that it's a "bring your own" pipe shop. It is small and can get busy real quick. You can also buy your own cigar, or cigarettes. Most people go to watch the games, or pay per views. I also should add that it is only capable because of the grandfather law. The Hookah lounges have to take their smokers outside. Funny to see them shiver in the winter, and smoking to look cool.

  • It has been done here in Columbus, Ohio.. Bad thing is the smoking ban only allows you to smoke indoors there. Or 50 feet from the entrance. These smoking laws are getting really bad.

  • looks delicious!

  • great idea!! i'd love to open something like that up here where we have no tobacconist, i could even carve pipes :-)

  • The idea is great. As a kind of second business it should also work today (and might have worked in the 50s, 60s and 70s either).

    Cheers

    Lars

  • being out of tobacco, i took the crumbles from 10 different tins ive saved, mixed them ant smoked it, it was OK, but very unbalanced in flavor!

  • you know, you never ever seem like your in a bad mood, ever!

you seem like a happy guy. must be the pipe huh?

  • Who knows :-) I am indeed a happy guy

  • dont know if you noticed but you had a ring at 2:40

  • Yeah, great idea. I bet it would have been a popular place to smoke back in the "Golden Age" of smoking...so are you going to go into the tobacco blending business?!

  • Nah my current field of business is more lucrative

  • Hi Pipefriend, Funnily enough,I find that an aromatic and an english in the same bowl can make very good partners indeed! You would think that it would taste and smell awful, but with many combinations over the years,I have found that it works surprizingly well!

Have fun mixing a bit of this and a bit of that, you will be surprized what delightful combos you can come up with!....Enjoy!

  • I may make a video of good mixes

  • Yes indeed, I was wonder as someone who has just started out on cheap cigars, and who will soon make his way to pipes. I was wondering, are you actually sucking the air into your lungs?.. I thought one wasn't supposed to do that, well I haven't yet anyhow. I'm liking the experience fine just tasting the stuff in my mouth. One of the finer points VS cigarettes i've always figured. Englighten me! :)

  • I inhale only on rare occasions

  • I think a smoking cafe or lounge would be cool, and I would go to it. I don't think too many folks smoke and drink coffee though ;)

What would you call this business?

  • Pipe Dreams or PipeBucks ;-)

  • Cool Smoke Lounge ;-)

  • Pipe Dreams sounds solid ;D

  • Yeah, In Holland we have the thee-houses...sound almost similar...but with-out the bite:P

  • spelled: tea :-)

  • i would definately go there. looks like your starting to get the rings down

  • If they can have tons of Hookah bars scatter all over the US why not Pipe bars?

  • Both Iwan Ries in Chicago and Edward's Pipe Shop in Denver are sort of doing that now - big chairs, wi-fi, TV for sportsfans, convivial fellows sitting around relaxing and discussing just about everything. I found Edward's to be the more comfortable of the two. -Tom

  • im tellin you. you seriously got something going here. i would help open the store with ya..

  • This isn't a bad idea at all. If I lived in South Carolina - which I might once I'm out of college - I'd gladly join you in opening a shop.

  • Ive actually mixxed a few bosweell blends, Rum River with Mild English which isnt too shabby but so far my favorite is the Chocolate Creme and Apple Strudel. Next 1 i try later is Bear Blend with Apple Strudel.

  • Terrific concept, Pipefriend!

Here are my preferences for your Barista log:

    1. XL

    2. Northwoods / Bear Blend

    3. 75% N / 25% B

Hey - check out my posting on your previous vid. Wishing you luck in your quest for a Peterson "2000 Pipe of the Year". ($250 at the Briary.)

    Cheers.

    - Dan

  • Your order is coming right up! Have a seat in our comfortable leather chairs and help yourself to some books/newspapers while we make your coffee..I mean pipe!

  • LOL. Sounds like heaven.

  • Hey Pipefriend!....did you already try the Frank method to packing your pipe?...I think its the best!

See my video favorits and look for 'the Frank method' or 'German packing' ;-)

Hope that you can tell me your experience with that metod....and perhapst other people too

  • I have seen it in the past and got tired just looking at it lol. It seems overkill to me

  • Important is you use a Turbo Lighter! Not just a pipelighter without any flame power.

Normaly I use like most pipesmokers the 1,2,3 method.

The Frank method (after good praktising) is far more better then the 1,2,3, method.

Now I smook much more "Cooler" and with only 2 re-lights the whole bowl...a big bowl!

Just give it a try and you will see! :-)

  • If you put the flame right in the midle of the bowl for only 1 second there is not any harm for your pipe...believe me.

But praktise makes the master ;-)

Just watch the 3 video's with attention (you can find all video's in my favorites) is my advise for the one's who sceptic about this method of packing a pipe.

  • If pipe tobacco was as popular as coffee that might work. Starbucks tobacco anyone?
