Medical marijuana is a joke. Over half the people with prescriptions don't even have an illness. Unfortunately, pot heads give marijuana a bad name, like alcoholics give beer a bad name. These are the lazy, no ambition, idiots whose personality changes after smoking and go out in public & do stupid irresponsible things. On the other hand there are a minority of people who are responsible, respectful, and can handle everyday living smoking it.

I worked for a pharmaceutical company, too. But it's ok if I have more dangerous chemicals in my system like codeine & vicoden. I'm a calif. licensed pharmacy technician & we're not supposed to have THC in our piss- no compassion for people living in pain. A great catch 22. What a game i have to play- drug testing.

This also means there will be tighter security around these areas and pot will be harder to get if your not 21+. Good thing Canada is already taking the steps to decriminalize :D. if its decriminalized in Ontario its gonna go legal with the rest of Canada eventually.

To legalize the smoking of marihuana isnt right social-wise.
To make THC-capsules for medicinal purposes is a different story.
Cigarettes arent a mindaltering substance but very addictive and no medicinal values whatsoever. Sport can be addictive aswell and as soon people would stop, thats the time they might know something different is going on inside them, because they would get down and anxious.

GM plants disperse pollen like all other plants. The thing is, since these plants are patented, techically, if your fields are pollenated by their plants, and you collect the seed, you now have their genetics in your crop, and they can file a law suit against you. Not only that, but there is a good chance that seed is sterile. GM crops produce sterile seeds so you have to BUY them year after year. Research this. Please.

@poolehart You couldn't get high from burning hemp clothing you can only get high from smoking the bud of the plant which, contains all the cannabinoids such as THC or CBD, and it cannot used as fibre.
The fibre from the hemp plants stalks is what is used to make textiles such as clothes and rope and the fibres contain not cannabinoids. All that will happen if you burn your hemp shirtsleeves is you will burn your arm! Trust me you will not get high.

The chemical THC in marijuana can last up to six weeks. So if you get random drug tested at your work, be aware! Also it has been proven those with un-realised psychiatric disorders marijuana can provoke it and cause huge issues with violence or bring out mental disorders. Sure it takes away pain for cancer patients. Too many Mary Jane users are in denial about how the effects of it are more drastic than they realise. I'm not a prude, saw what it was doing to me, and I gave it up.

if the goverment legalised marijuana and made cigarettes ilegal, it would save loads on the health service, the goverment should tax marijuana and put a age limit 16+ to buy and smoke on the streets, and any young persons aged 3+ who are in very serious pain should be allowd to use marijuana to ease the pain, not smoking it but eating in treats which will make them feel happy. thanks :)
