hahaha....you should of had mr. bradley last year, he was freaky. Whenever you piss him off he would send you out of the room to search for the yellow bus with blue spots. He was crazy, but my favorite teacher. Besides Mr. Allen wasn't that freaky.

Mr. Allen is my band director right now and he is my favorite teacher. You should have heard us a few days ago when we played Crazy Train, it sounded exactly like the song on the recording from my dad's iPhone.

I addition, I just want to say that I have been FOR this band not AGAINST it. I want bands to do well. As an experienced musician and conductor, I've had my own small disasters with ensembles so I never expect anyone to be perfect, just on top of their game. If everybody gave total positive comments and not the truth, it doesn't benefit those in need. I always critiqued my own program and just tried to do the best I could with what I had. I'd like to see this group back on track, that's all.

perhaps this video can give mr. allen a feedback of what the band was like. he tried his best to match our levels but before he came there was band 1, 2 and 3 but he made it into 1 and 3 so that there are different levels of musicians in there

Is this the band in Lake Mary? That did not sound at all like it used to years ago. Pitch in brass was terrible here, almost fell apart in places, director should know the score better and overall sound was not good at all, folks. I'm kind of stunned. Let's work on the details for a better band sound and better pitch. Virtually no dynamics, it all sounded the same: loud.

I'm sorry the comments were so honest and you didn't care for them. No I don't know the piece but that is moot. I'm listening to the band play and when I hear bad tone quality, inaccuracy in rhythms, balance problems, etc. that is a distraction in my view. I've heard this band many years ago when RJ was conducting and he would have produced better results and more attention to details. Your comment suggests a proud parent and not an experienced conductor who hears these glaring issues.

it isn't the lake mary band, actually it is a middle school. Greenwood Lakes Middle. I know we weren't that great because Mr. Allen was still new and we had many people that just learned right notes. so it did suck.

I was actually referring to the city of Lake Mary not to confuse it with the HS band. BTW, I suspected that director was new and hopefully it will improve. I think the term suck might be a little harsh as there is a lot of potential there. Just keep trying and it will get better. That school has had a very good track record since it opened in 1985.

actually i am in the band also. i was the first clarinet. yeah, mr. allen was new that year and no one was really familiar with what he was like. but the piece didn't fall apart so much so that we had to start over like a band i know did
