I remember when White Ladder came out and I heard Babylon - what a whirlwind. All the background techno subtleties & the main riff - as perfectly constructed album from A to Z as you can get. Hard for him to top that one i suspect. My wife and i fell in love listening to that CD, each of us having a copy in our cars. Summer of 2000, as I remember? The first time i saw him in concert was in a small venue in Minnesota, USA. He got out of a bus and was talking to the awaiting crowd, great guy.
Comeback? I never realised He did GoAway! Keep the Inspiration coming Mr Gray. You've most definitely had an inspiration on my music. Take good care all. Much love, abbo
I have seen David twice and absolutely loved him. I was sort of put off his new album because of comments saying same old same old. Why on earth do i listen to other peoples comments. I bought it, I listened to it and its CRACKING !!!! Some songs need to be heard once or twice - well woopey dooo !!
Make up your own minds but I think its amazing. The duet with Annie Lennox !!!! Its nearly worn out on my car cd player. But of course this is just my opinion.
David is reaching iconic status and I feel it is utterly deserved. I hope that if I reach such heights, I could do so as gracefully. You're a good man David!

I loved "White Ladder" but everything after that was very mediocre. It's sad that when you reach fame everybody just keeps telling you how brilliant you are. Even if you're material is totally bland
most amazing singer/songwriter ever to grace the stage. you are amazing David. i've sen him in concert twice and will again every time the opportunity presents itself. he sounds as good or better live than he does in studio...amazing talent!
I have seen too many bands live to list them all and have been very lucky to see some that are no longer around. If you do nothing else before you die you must go see David Gray Live just the best live act i have ever seen.
It's funny that he is so calm, relaxed and shy (never looks directly into the camera) on interviews and so lively and direct on stage :) Many artist is like that... especially moviestars. Like seeing a interview wih Gary Oldman having a cosy chat about his role in dracula ;)
Its one thing expressing your opinions ... its another being an absolute dick. If you don't like the amaaaaazing Mr Gray who just happens to be married to my amaaaaazing friend SAM then do us all a favour & take your opinions elsewhere. Huup !!!

He's quite good. Why does he have to be so relentlessly dull though?
moltenslag 3 years ago
By dull do you must mean deep and thoughtful.
