  • Keep the treadmill at 10% grade and run. Twice the calories burned. I always leave it on an incline. You get used to it.

  • Keep in mind, the MPH of a treadmill is the belts revolution, NOT how fast you're running. You're probably running around 11 MPH. Besides, most treadmills don't even go to 6.5 MPH

  • if you want to be fit it's ok but if you into running avoid treadmill it will not help you

  • not true. many elite runners who run 50-100 miles per week will sometimes run on the treadmill. But yes it is better to mix it up.

  • runner2108: Compare lying on your sofa and running on a treadmill? OF COURSE it's good for you to run! But it's harder to run out in good terrain and therefore a treadmill is a good start.

  • You flail your arms so much when you run! It saves energy keeping them a bit more stationary. Regardless, yet another great video! I loved the side-step idea, I'd never heard or thought of that before. Definitely getting added to my routine the next time I'm at the gym.

  • I'm no personal trained or anything but I'm pretty sure i was taught in highschool that you need to keep your heart rate in a target zone for more than 15 min and if your switching speeds/inclines and whatnot, it wouldn't appear to me that that goal is being met.

  • I think she is working muscle tone with this workout. Hence the drastic inclines/declines, and the side steps. What you're thinking of is if you want to burn fat, and you're right that in order to do so, a constant heart rate must be maintained.

  • I think it's the HiiT technique. A lot of people follow this and report good fat loss.

  • its called interval training...and its actually proven to burn fat faster than staying at one constant speed .. fyi
