I can't see why doing sports and do "normal" stuff would be different from dwarfs. I'm grown-up soon (19years old) and I'm almost as short as a dwarf but I'm not one, and I can do whatever I want..

The only thing is that people _always_ have to point out that I'm short. I bet if they saw a dworf they wouldn't react the same way just because they are dwarfs. But being short, I see along the years, is fine.

@zammmerjammer Probability. I only ever heard/seen of one person in any of those typical jobs. That was a disability counselor. Which is kinda not ironic. So, in order to play up the expectations of the majority viewing audience they have to put in what we typically see everyday to be believable. Like you said, Black people didn't start getting respected roles/jobs until people as a whole dropped the racism a bit and started seeing more and more in respectable jobs.

Dwarfism isn't an intellectual disability. A person who has dwarfism is typically of normal intelligence. It's not a disease that requires a "cure." Most people with one of these conditions live long, fulfilling lives. It's not a reason to assume someone is incapable. Little people go to school, go to work, marry, and raise children, just like their average-size peers.

I wish I could see a movie with a dwarf, amputee, even a fat person, in a role that isn't connected to the peculiar quality, or a gay couple portrayed like a straight couple. Most movies have attractive thin stars. If anyone else is in the movie it's comic relief 1-dimensional roles. The only movie I've seen with amputees is A.I. where they played robots fixing themselves. Why can't everybody with acting talent get serious lead roles?

Non-norm-fitting people do get roles, but they're usually limited to stereotypical comic relief characters. When a character could be played by anyone, the role doesn't go to someone who happens to be fat or short or handicapped or albino, even though such people can live normal lives and do everything movie characters do, except action roles like Rambo.

My granddaughter is a dwarf. I've added your video to my "Dwarfs & Dwarfism" Playlist for her. I also have an open letter to her (Dear Robin: An Open Letter (watch?v=ReGUevwbX2k)) with pictures from the time she was a babe up till she was almost 12. She is 13 now. Anyway, thanks for the video. I believe it will give my granddaughter a better perspective of what it is like to be a dwarf moreso than what she may run across on the Major Networks.

I helped a guy with dwarfism in a store the other day. He couldn't reach the upper shelves, so I got the item for him. Nothing strange or funny about that. We're all different bodily and/or mentally in some way. That's how nature works.
