I'm tired of MPW and Ramsay saying "it only takes 15 minutes to make this courgette caviar cranberry soy fondue crab roast, easy and simple"
First of all, it takes like an hour to gather the ingredients, half an hour to prepare, then the "15 minutes" to cook, then the dishwashing and cleaning...
It takes less than five minutes to zest and juice and orange if you have even the slightest clue what you're doing, if you want to speed it up then drop a half cup of water into the pan with the sugar while you're zesting so that your sugar is almost entirely dissolved by the time you're done. Then drag a bag of cranberries out of your fridge (or freezer) and dump them directly into the pot.
to gather the ingredients... either you have a very disorganised pantry or you're including how long you take to shop for groceries in the cooking time which is just retarded.
To prepare them, have a sharp knife and know how to use it, cook like you actually want to get the job done and it will take you as long as they say it will take you.
here though, there is almost no prep required, what the hell are you talking about?!
yes I do. But they aren't going to give time estimates for people who would struggle to make eggs on toast are they?
It's like a GPS giving you a time estimate. If a person doesn't have the confidence to even reach the speed limit on the road they're going to take longer aren't they?

What the heck are you talking about?
