drs who should be conventionally unattractive and horribly dressed. they will seem more alien compared to the usually attractive supporting cast and the always hot female companions!
@RagingSeraphim Yeah, Colin Baker looked ridiculous, but the funny thing is that he wasn't originally supposed to. Initially, to fit with his "dark Doctor" character, they were going to give him an all dark-blue suit, tie, shirt, etc., but the BBC chickened out at the last minute and decided to give him something closer to the original Doctors. 's what happens when you don't commit to an idea 100%.
@glenrea Yes, and It was ****ing horrible. I don't think he should've played the doctor ad go back to play his shooter known as Maxil (from Arc Of Infinity). In other words, an actor who played the Time Lord who shot The Doctor shouldn't play the victim.
@TheEndlessWarlock he wanted to be mostly black but virtually the same types of clothes he wore. but, JNT changed it, said he'd look to much like the master, and thats how we got that amazing techni-colour coat of many colours.
@animationdude56 Amazing is subjective in this case. I really did not like the attire, Baker was right in wanting black If JNT wanted him to be darker in personality
@666PANTYHOSE all of my girlfriends that I've gotten to watch the classic Who have all loved Pertwee. They thought he was sexy. One of them thought Tom Baker and Peter Davison were sexy too.
I agree with the chap moaning about the way the theme is at the moment. The mysterious rolling base in the background, dum-de-dum etc has gone and now a school band seems to be playing it.
no offence taken. I can see why Banned thinks it's a lame mix but if you have a look at the Ark in Space DVD special features (region 2) it's on there!
They're replacing Tennant because he wants to leave the show and do other things.Tom Baker struggled to find decent acting work in the 1980s because he was so heavily associated with Doctor Who and actors like Chris Eccleston and David Tennat obviously want to avoid the pitfalls of type-casting.
Matt Smith will cast a fresh eye over the show and develop his own distinctive Doctor and the fact that he has never really watched the show means he can approach it with an open and uninfluenced mind.
Not really a bad thing if chosen actor hasn't seen the show as he can add a fresh character dimenson all of his own, though taking bits from previous doctors isn't bad!

@warlocksarewatching actually in an interview he said, to prepare for the role he was going down to the bbc vaults to watch ALL the stories. he and moffat are serious about their doctor
i kant (yes kant) belive this sequence was only used 1s it is rrrrrrrrrrreeeeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaaaaalllllllllllllyyyyyyyyy gggggggooooooodddddddd!!!!!!!!!!!!
No the brown vortex was "Ark in Space" DVD but the bits after..... thats not a proper title sequence its just a mish mash of how the sequence was made?!?
The feature on the "Robot" DVD it about how Bernard Lodge made the title sequence using Slit-Scan. It's quite an interesting feature if you're into photography
that first bit without the sound showing the tardis is what they super impose on the second part then they mix the two with the third , you got some real good footage there to make your own remix title sequance :)
The titles were brown when I watched "The Creature from the Pit" on UKTV Drama a couple of nights ago! My guess is the master copies may have suffered a little bit of damage over the years.
NO the Beeb trialled a different shade of colour for the time tunnel titles on one or two stories but found it wasn't successful so reinstated blue on the rest of them. Nothing to do with tape/filmwear giles852002
As far as I am aware it was to see if it would look better through different coloured filters while producing. How it got to transmission I'm not sure, as I've read of two different reasons, both from BBC books, both conflicting!
I hope someone can use the unused Tom opening, the one that starts up almost like Jon Pertwee's second opening.

Another "rare" title sequence video. I'm sure owners of The Ark in Space DVDs would agree with that ;)

The 70s themes and titles were the best, the music scared me as a child! Im not impressed with the new series titles and variation of the theme.
JAYROX1969 2 years ago 3
I can live with the fact that the new Doctor hasn't watched the show. He *is* aware of its history and how people love it.
My main concern is how the show keeps choosing younger and younger actors. We'll eventually end up with a 10 year-old as the Doctor.
I know society worships youth now, but I really wouldn't mind seeing a Doctor who is in his 50s or 60s.
Arnabas315 2 years ago 6
@Arnabas315 I think they said that the next doctor would be old again seeing as so many of them are young

I think it's a clip from another unused sequence. The official test sequence is just a remake of the 2nd Pertwee sequence
