  • @wilsontech1 thats because Android divides it processor with UI( user interface) and the apps ur currently running where as IOS gives the whole piority to the UI. So thats y it feels more smooth...Just load a page in ur iphone and put ur fingure somewhere on the screen before letting the page to be displayed ull notice that the browser wont load the page until u put ur fingure away from the screen!!

  • Lammar sold his mother in law for it...lmao

  • Prob lol

  • you have a cute head

  • Yo bro... The iPhone does not have two speakers. One is a speaker and the other is a Microphone.

  • windows phone ftw when it gets more apps

  • Good video .. thx... im sending you a big +1 form Slovakia

  • I love this guy.

  • IPod and iPhone are a iPad nano lol

  • Hey Lamarr.

First of all great vid and great idea.

secondly, you can +1 stuff in android G+. you have to tap the thingy and then the +1 button is in the top right hand corner next to another icon which i cant remember what it does.

But yea. thats all i have to say, enjoy your Gnex.

  • Hi

  • the last comment was stupid.

  • The last comment was 5 days ago so I want to help.

  • You should try a windows phone like the Nokia lumia 800

  • Comment removed

  • you should use an android tablet and an iPhone because the iPhone is the best phone.

  • iphone ui gets boring and boring

  • I agree with the fact that i sometimes can't decide between using the iPod touch and the iPad but i also use both of them at the same time.

  • 5:47-6:07 EPIC that's what she said.

  • I totally agree with the you on the iPhone's refinement. It is more refined and smoother operating than most other Android phones. The only other phone which had just as smooth an operating OS was a Samsung Focus running Windows 7 Mobile. But you pay for the prestige and user experience with an iPhone. They are very expensive even under contract compared to Android phones.

  • Might as well be the way i hold it but i have a Galaxy Note and i don't have any issues with reaching far places on the screen and my hand is not big at all

  • i have an ipad 2 and a samsung galaxy s2 so i think im pretty well rounded i dont hate either but what irks me is that everybody says ipad is a bigger iphone but nobody ever says android tabs are big android phones awesome review but just wait till s2 gets ics

  • By the way, what case are you using looks pretty tight :)

  • I meant rooted

  • I think by the end of the 8 month your goun to be sucked in by android :-) Android is way better than IOS. I as well have both devices and I realized with Android you can do so much more. They even let you change your UI and etc. For example I roited my Droid incredible. Stock it come with HTC Scenes now I am running 4.0.3 Ice Cream sandwich. It just amazes me how much I can do with android devises.

  • Great man!

  • I am in the middle, however all in all I like Google better. iOS is kind of boring and too easy to use. Android looks very nice and is much more organized. I cannot say anything about the screen since my only ever iOS device is an iPad. And Google has a much better computer OS. Seriously, I hate Mac OS. It was annoying (we used it in school). I have:

    16GB Nexus S

    32GB iPad 2

    Cr-48 Chromebook

Toshiba Satellite C655 (I am using it to write my comment)

  • WTH. -_-

Part of my comment got chopped.

  • @wilsontech1

I am a iOS fan. And iOS is my first "smartphone" experience. I say that in quotes because I used an iPod for 2.5 years before owning my Android (Dec. 17).

Now after using my New Galaxy Nexus for 3.5 weeks I've grown to like Android more then iOS.

    MY REASONS

Android is better then iOS. After awhile iOS just becomes really dull and boring.

Once I got the android phone, a few things made me excited

    1. Customization

    2. Adobe Flash

    3. Larger screen

  • @wilsontech1

And when I say both I mean both "speaker" on the iPhone.

  • @wilsontech1

There is actually one speaker. I own a nexus and my brother owns the iPhone 4.

If you put your finger over both "speakers" you notice that there is only one speaker. If it had two speakers it would not have mic.

Just wanted to point that out.

  • Heck I'm not going to buy Apple products. My Sony Ericsson Android Walkman sounds better than my friend and cousins iPhone. iPhone has no Adobe flash.

  • without editing is better , keep it that way :-D

  • Im kinda like Wilsontech but I only have apple devices. I'm willing to be as well rounded as possible

  • I WILL NEVER go back to iOS, it's miles behind android and windows phone....and even webos

  • @JJop123 IOS is way better

  • iPad....STOP turning off ;) SSSSSSTOP IT !!

  • I thinking Microsoft is on the good way with Windows Phone. I love and use iOS. I would try Android. I thinking all mobile OS have good points and bad points.

  • the win8 demo sucks . why use it

  • 0:00-0:18 that's what she said all the way :)

  • Lol longpress the comment to +1 on gnexus

  • 2:16 did he say biaster?

  • iPhone has maps that has everything you said?

  • i always thought the ipad was a big touch, but there are things about the ipod (size) that make me think an ipad isnt worth it. i just dont want to watch tv shows on the bus with an ipad. at home, hell yeah, but an ipod is a much more convenient size in many cases. i am an apple guy, and im thinking of getting a galaxy player to try android more than i have, and partially for the large screen but still have the convenience but in that case ill def get an ipad for the ecosystem of ios

  • your funny

  • i gidditied when you slipped with the reach around then you did.

i never knew you had a G1, i still have mine around and take it out(poor thing). i remember when i first got it all my friends had iphones or iphone 3g's. every time they did something i was like ohhhh i can do that too. then i bought an ipod touch which i would carry with my g1, i got really fond of how iOS worked and bought a 3Gs. Since then i've had all iphones to current 4s. I try andriods now and then but cant see buying one.

  • you're mistaken when you said the iphone has two speakers..

actually it's one speaker and one mic :)

btw, I'm thinking about the Galaxy nexus beside the iphone ,, man I love android <3

  • Cool Review

  • Cool

  • Black Siri will probably be glad to have you out of her weave! haha :D

Can't wait to see the upcoming reviews, although I will never give up my apple devices.

I definitely use my iphone more than my iMac and iPad combined. I literally do everything on it. I'm almost tempted to sell one of them off to get the 4s

  • a tech "stir fry" makes total sense. personally i want to make my own desktop for a pc experience, and a mba for a laptop.

  • Don't chuck the iPhone give it to me

  • I like the vid Lamarr but your funnier when you cut it

  • I've switched to Android cuz i lost my iphone(yeah it's stupid). I love android phones but I miss iOS so much. I miss how easy stuff are on iOS, and I miss the sync system the most.

  • if you go inside of the post you can +1 it.

  • 9:46 NO !! "Asus Transformer Prime" IS better than the iPad 2 ;D !!

  • Comment removed

  • That's what I feel, I don't think people hate iPhone for real it's just people hate Apple & IOS . But after using an iPad 2, I like IOS again, IOS started to get boring until I jailbroke it. The iPad is a great product but the iPhone is not as good as it.

  • @ ur right

  • might need them for different reasons, you might be in college and want something to do homework on and the big screen would be better, or you might want something more portable then you would like the iPod or iPhone better, if you want something portable and can call from use the iPhone. They keep it the same to make it easy and work best so you can have that natural feeling and so that you know how everything works and you can in my opinion it is a awesome thing.

  • I don't have anything but an iPod touch 4g, but I see how the things are very similar, and I like it but I see what you mean, I like it because you get to know what to do, it becomes so simple that its natural, but apps seem better on the iPad(I used my cousins iPad at their house once) Gaming fills in a space that the iPhone and iPod doesn't because the screen is bigger and things look so much nicer then the iPhone, But other then that I would say you

  • can i please have have your iphone ??? ;)

  • Keep ur iPhone and to tell u the truth anyone who comes in my house with a different apple product I will try to hide it but it always ends up in a fight coz I just bring out am iPad and they started screaming at me they were sayin that hp is better then apple so I said to them man are u crazy and I also said sssstop it Lamarr KEEP UR IPHONE

  • @Daexdous99 Dude, he uses his nexus for a reason

I had a iPhone 3G and liked it.

After a time, you get bored of the iOS though.

It's great i agree but you get bored of it.

It's always the same, never any big updates.

The biggest thing you miss from an iPhone is that it's so smooth, no lagspikes at all that android have.

And here in sweden everything is reverse, if you dont buy a iPhone people think you're stupid

    THEY'RE BOTH AS GOOD!

    IT'S ABOUT WHAT YOU PREFER!

  • I just put my iPad on my desk so I could get to it easily and I usually don't bring my iPad with me, I just bring my iPhone, so that is a win win!

  • One criticism about iOS is its so boring... I want so major UI changes.. COME ON APPLE!

  • i wish you do reviews, like tablets and phones

  • I used and loved android for a year and then I tried iphone 4 I moved to apple and I really think android sucks comparing to ios

  • You are perfectly right ,

  • ur life iz amazing

  • I think everything you said in the video was valid. In the last 2 years I have moved over to iOS/Apple fully as everything just works and windows-apart from Xbox-is just irritating . I totally agree that using an iPhone and iPad creates a conflict and renders one slightly useless....but I still have both. I understand your love of the navigation and maps this is what is missing from the iPhone. Another big issue for me with iOS is tethering. In Scotland additional charges or more expensive da

  • @AidanSuperman I agree that the iOS is more simple and always works.

But i got bored of the iOS after a pair of years and changed to Android for the possibility to do so much more (For a cost of irritating lagspikes sometimes though)

And please don't think android and windows/microsoft is the same thing, i dont like them and makes me feel sick that people think they are similar.

    Ubuntu and Mac ftw

  • Do more of these Lamarr! i like these long unedited videos

  • I really liked your semi-review. And here are my opinions:

iOS devices are definitely smoother than Android ones.

However, I decided on an HTC Desire HD for a few reasons.

First and most importantly, I don't have iTunes and don't want it, and I want a phone that can act as a USB memory stick - no extra software required.

Also, I do like the widgets (especially HTC Sense ones). I like having the time and weather (shown large) on my main screen all of the time.

    But iOS is great, too.

  • you are the best reviewer ever

  • Overall its awesome to see the tech person, not being one sided, really nice to see, love you have both iOS and Android, cant wait to see your on going videos about the new phone, Will say was going to get it myself because its a beautiful phone, but I am now going to wait until next year for the next gen Android phones, I just hope its the right choice, and waiting for the next gen ipad too as well so I can get that:)

  • the video came with a nexus ad too lol

  • I want the iPhone

  • I use both iPhone 4s and galaxy nexus to me only to good thing about iOS there is no learning curve and the camera is so much better but I like the galaxy nexus so much better

  • Ya, Google Plus just updated on my phone and now it's all jazzed up. The messenger in it is goofed.

  • I have had a Samsung for close to a year now. It is the cheaper model the "Intercept". It seems to work alright.

  • Like it BTW U do have another hand right?

  • tell the truth, you're switching to andoid becouse it's better.

  • I have both ipad and iphone and I barely use my ipad.. using the iphone is so much natural cause it's more portable.. however, watching movies and youtube on the ipad is much more entertaining..

  • Only annoying thing about having lots of devices on different OSes is that you buy something on one device, and you have to keep re-buying it for each different OS! Whereas stick to Android or iOS and you have it on all your devices :) (And me being a long time iOS user, I'm getting kinda bored of it. I hate android, so I'm going to go with WP7!! I hate windows, but love the XBOX and WP7 so looking forward to changing to that this Christmas!)

  • Cool, Lamar. You're doing what I've been doing for the longest: I have an EVO 4G and also have an iPod touch. I agree Android OS has some things that iOS knocks out the park but imo, Android is overall a better phone OS. I chiefly have an iPod touch to play games and like that I can experience iOS and all of the dope games in its ecosystem without needing to pay for data plans, phone plans, etc. So...yeah. =D

  • I don't see a point to this, his subjectiveness in the end will go to the iPhone, and he'll just trudge through the Nexus through the months.. nothing will be proved, motivated or even learned..

  • you are my favorite youtuber but just fyi for the future u said the iphone was more clear in sound quality because of two speakers but it only has one. one is a speaker the other is a mic

  • he do edited this look at the end

  • i totally believe in your viewpoint of biaism, and I would say that I don't have that problem with the iPhone and the iPad because I just got an iPhone 4S yesterday, however, probably in a month, yes, that will be the case.

  • god gave u two hands

  • yea, that number one reason why i dislike android (even thought its my favorite OS) is the frame rate issue...

  • Great Decision! Great Video

  • I have just done the same thing except I have up my 4S for a motorola razr I think it's a great idea.

  • I wish more YouTubers were like you. Having different things is always good.

  • If you decide you dont want the Galaxy Nexus anymore... i will totally buy it off you.

  • Nexus Prime ftw

  • I totally agree that the iPad and the iPhone are the same interface that do the same thing.

  • I get bored of having internet on my phone , because when i go on my computer i have nothing to look at lol

  • I have been an Apple guy since the 1st gen iPod came out, and I just recently purchased a MacBook pro, I don't know why I waited so long? But this is a bold move ur making, and I will definitely watch ur reviews & comparisons in the future. Actually I'm betting U will have the iPhone back in ur hands B4 the new one comes out.

  • The best user experience I've had on android is MIUI. With the ICS bulid android has come an long way.

  • I like it. I am the opposite with an android tablet but the iPhone. I am interested in seeing what you say. I personally preferred to keep the iOS form factor and speed in the device I keep on hand when on the go. But, enjoy the productive customization Android offers for how I use my tablet

  • Yea scrolling on the galaxy nexus is just as smooth as iPhone its just not limited in how far it can scroll.like iPhone

  • Lol lamar, HOLD ON THE COMMENT TO +1. Ssssssstop it! Stop being an android noob.

  • Keep the iphone 4s

  • DO IT! DO IT! DO IT! do u really think u can last half a year w/out the iPhone? if you do.... B-R-A-V-O.

  • lol 1 more secont and the video length would be perfect

  • MAKE A VID!!!!!!!

  • Seems like a good idea. If I could have tried it, I would.

  • 11:30 That takes gut. That is true dedication. But don't do it just for us.

  • I'm an apple person, because I'm visually impaired, and they have great accessibility. My mom has an ipad, and I have an iphone. I agree that the ipad is a big iphone, although yesterday, I seriously missed the alarm clock on the ipad :p (wanted to quickly set a timer for a study break)

  • I agree with this idea completely this will give you a real feel with the device and give viewers a legit idea of the product

  • i like this dude lol

  • I agree!

  • cough cough 8 billion

  • @spgfire No, its 7 billion....

  • @MattSm130 yup my bad i miss read that article

  • @spgfire Aha, kk =D

  • me has an samsung galaxy mini and its about the same just smaller :)

  • SssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssSssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssSssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssSssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssstop it!!!

  • my one OH i forgot id ont have a phone

  • The way you're talking about switching you act like you're going to live in a third world country for 6-8 months...

  • I think that it's a great Idea, you should get an old computer or dual boot linux on one of your computers too. I've been running linux for a while to try to see what the difference is and I think it's better. IOS, WP7, and Android are good systems I think (I haven't had much experience with WP7 but I have an Itouch and a honeycomb tablet) I just think that because Android is Linux based that you should give ubuntu a go on your computer :).

P.S. Openshot is the best video editor for linux

  • Your getting rid of the iPhone? MAN R U CRAZY!!!!!!

  • @thecrewweekly If you used one for a couple months you would not think it was a big iphone. Just because it has the same screen doesn't mean shit. Two totally different devices.

  • i am an apple person and i have to agree with you as the only reason i haven't got an ipad so far is because it's just a big iphone

  • Hey meng, giveaway the nexus one, maybe someone need it, like me!...

  • Nice video Lamar, I like how open minded you are... Keep up the good work...

  • next WM7 phone :P

  • You need to hold on a comment to +1 :)

  • i just judged you

  • Good video sir, you're a likeable and reasonable chap amidst this Operating System warzone.

I also like that you are willing to use a product you just spend $600+ on. ;-)

  • I think you should give the challenge a go. The theory is right and you shouldn't miss the iPhone experience because it is all on your iPad

  • You Are saying that IOS 5 is better :)

  • WELL ROUNDED WILSONT'ECH1 FTW!!!!!:)

  • Windows 8 you said there? Does anyone know where to get a up-to-date (beta)-release? Pretty curious to see it in action!

  • are you selling your nexus s or nexus one?

  • Hey Lamarr, just 4 u to know, The iPhone also has one speaker. The second one is a microphone

  • I watched every second of that. Good luck!

  • I love Android, but I wish it did have the smoothness of iOS.

  • Darn you Wilson! I came to on to YouTube to upload a video and you got me distracted for 30 minutes watching your awesome videos. Stop it! ; )

  • ill send a pic if you dont understand. hope all that helps good luck on the challenge

  • try holding the phone like this and if u can and get used to it youll never need 2 drop the phone down. I have average sized hands. but ur pinky finger under the bottom then put 2 finfingers middle give space and ur pointer finger torwards the top. and you thumb will be able to reach all of the screen. it might ne hard for a min. ive always hold a phone like that. I think its the best way to hold a phone your pinky is balancing the phone the other fingers just makes the phone not fall backwards.

  • your missing it. on google+ click the comment you like its up at the top byt the person that put the video or statues etc. its on the right its a + symbol. let me no if that helps love ur videos

  • When iPhone 5 comes out, which I know apple is scrambling around like chickens with there heads cut off, trying to out do this phone! I'll be waiting to see what apple do

  • I just put my iPhone 4s to rest for thus galaxy nexus! I feel like the iPhone 4s was a great upgrade from the 4 as in speed, but before I had the iphone, I had the evo 4g... so on and so on! I have no just stuck with one device so... this is not bias!!! I love the connectivity of the iOS as in iTunes.. blah blah.. then the ice cream sandwich on this galaxy is a major step up for android! It completely puts android ahead of iPhone... until iPhone 5

  • Also I have an original iPad/iPhone 4S. I don't use my iPad as much as before only because it's not as fast anymore being that single core A4 and less RAM and what not. But I still use it more often then I would think, I throw it on my desk and leave my laptop in my room and use it for music and just checking up on things. connect it to the speakers and stuff. a lot more handy than a laptop in that scenario

  • wilson, check out "Waze" on your iPhone for turn by turn navi for free. And it has traffic updates and stuff. I use it regularly in my car with my phone mounted, it's too good. alternate routes and everything.

just another option. doesn't have that same synergy like you said of Google Maps but it realllyyy gives it a run for its money for me.

  • Great points made. Don't bother with the Galaxy.

  • i always enjoy all your videos man, you're awesome no matter what. i say do it bro. its always good to try new things out and get new experiences. i was thinking about putting my iphone down for a bit and try out the xperia play cuz i bought my niece one and now im kinda getting curious about it. so maybe you can help me with that decision as well if you reply. but i say to you man, i would like to see what videos you would do with it. hitting the like button like always :)

  • While in the Apple store the other day, the tech guys at the service counter personal phone rang, he pulled out a Blackberry & quickly rejected the call before trying to hide what phone he had

  • lol i took that challenge a while back and hellz to the no ....cant do teh android....just didnt feel rite....have no idea why but just didnt feel the same....ill stick to my iPhone4 and iPad 2...(till the new ones come out )

  • I would definitely not get rid of an iPad, but I could see myself (if I were in this position) keeping the Galaxy Nexus over the iPhone. However, you should think about it, and maybe consider WP7...

  • I really like your videos. Their good when you're funny and good when your serious. :]

  • so.. you tried android, you tried ios, and now your going back to android. nice. lol, how bout you give WP7 a chance? it's actually not that bad, honestly i think that'll make you a more rounded tech reviewer.

  • I'm in a similar situation with the iphone and ipad but instead of owning iOS I own 2 android devices: Samsung Infuse and Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9

  • Why do you make videos at your house instead of your office now? Are you poor now?

  • Two weeks later.. "My precious. Oh my precious precious. It is ourssssss."

  • DONT GET RID OF YOUR IPHONE PLEZ

  • what case are you rocking on the nexus?

  • hey! the iPhone has only one loudspeaker, the other side hole, is a Mic. just noting. nice video, good comparison

  • can i have your iphone

  • Comment removed

  • i dont like that idea. People complain that the ipad and iphone are too similar. thats what apple wants. it is honestly a lot better having really similar products. Apple has a great interface, its easy to use and really smooth. they would obviosly want you to have the same great experience. And since they are so similar then everything can sync together and stuff. Thats personnay why i prefer ios, and i have used both

  • fliped us off 3:55

  • I also have the iPhone and iPad2. Looking at this Nexus... I'm thinking if I should do the same thing.. but I'm under contract so I'd have to spend $649?!

  • i totally agree with the whole ipad iphone thing. i looove them both but like , yeah. veryverysimilar. great review btw. :)

  • is that a phone that requires 2 hands?! wow aha

  • nice! you make yourself more credible...

  • I will agree with you. I have both the iPad and iPhone and it is hard to decide between the two. But I do use both of them just the same. However, I to use my iPhone more as a phone, and my iPad more as a tablet...

  • Jailbreak your iPhone and unlock!!!
