This version is both different from and inferior to her version with Whiteman that used to be on YouTube. Does anyone know where it went or if it can be reposted?
This is not the Whiteman Scroll Victor from 1932 which I have backed w/"Can't You See? Goodman has the opening solo. Probably a Columbia (poosibly Blue Wax) or ARC product.
Of all renditions I've ever heard of this lovely number Mildred Baileys is second only to Louis Armstrongs early recordrings. His rhythm and his trumpet cannot be surpassed, but Mildred is a marvel all the same.
beautiful music! take me with you, please, take me with you!

My mother kept telling me that this was a great song, and it is! It stands the test of time, and Mildred Bailey sings it the best!

@aeroanimal2
Don't you and your mom wince a bit at the lyrics? Mildred would NEVER sing that song if she were alive today!

One song I haven't seen on Youtube is "Snowball". Could someone please upload it?
"Little chocolate bars / snowball / don't you melt away / Daddy likes those dark brown eyes..."

@LockedRapunzel Did it possibly occur to you, Gov Barbour, that the lyrics to Snowball are quite offensive?

Mildred was definitely "a woman before her time"...2009 will be a year that I search out her music.
Thanks for posting.
