  • Love this one. My family likes pierogi and I want to try this one... Also, I'm learning to be a Sign Language Interpreter, so I was thrilled to find one of your videos ASL Interpreted! Yay! ^_^

  • So helpful. Im a 13 year kold boy amd trying to experiment with different foods. And your vids are helping a lot. Just learning the basics of the recipe and then I personalize it in my own unique way.

  • Hello. Pyrogy are common to many cultures around the old soviet union.....Polish, Ukranian, Hungarian, Mennonite, Etc,,,, perogy is a bastardiazed pronuciation of the Ukrainian pyrohy....whuch sounds like pudda-haya when said by somebody else. So it became a perogy. The Polish pronunciaiton (I suspect, but unsure) is pee-ROW-gi. So we can get perogy out that way, too. Actually, Who the flip cares? They are REALLY GOOD !!!!

  • I love my Canadian friends, but it's POLISH!!! PIEROGI!! I grew up with tons of Russian, Polish and Hungarians in our town....Lot's of great ethnic foods. When I think of Canada though, I think of Poutine!!!

  • I like to call them PROROGIES in true Canadian style ;). You should also sear them before plating...adds a beautifully crisp exterior.

  • I like to call them PROROGIES in true Canadian style ;).

  • did you pan fry them after boiling? You forgot to shoot that part

  • they are POLISH and proper polish plural name is PIEROGI!!! not perogies.

  • I love the new opening, it's very creative and inspirational too! This is a great recipe, I've never tried perogies before, so I really can't wait to make these! another gr8 video Mr. Jay!

  • Spelt flour seems something new to me. I don't think I've ever used it before. The food looks great! It looks easy enough for me to try. I may put something more inside besides potato :)

  • I've never had Perogies. I saw an episode on Food network on Triple D and it look so good - like comfort food. I will do your recipe because it so much healthier. :) Thank you for sharing! You and Miss Sue are sooooo cute! ♥ Regards to the fam! I miss Taya chan. :( Love the intro too.

  • Awesome stuff!

Those look so awesome. I need to make some. Just need to hunt down some feta cheese....not so easy to come by in Japan!

  • @BusanKevin you can use cottage cheese, cheddar cheese, goat cheese... change it up!

  • cuteness intro J.. makapasyal nga sa panadirya at hanapin ko yan haha!

  • I think I'll have to try this!

  • @qiranger I wonder if kimchi would make a good filling? Sauerkraut is a common filling in perogies as well so I can't see how kimchi wouldn't work.

  • @MrJingjong It would be worth a shot!

  • A very nice video. Being a Canadian boy (BC born), perogies were always a staple at my house. Always home made from my grandmothers kitchen, they were as much apart of growing up Canadian as Hockey Night in Canada. Your take is an interesting one, as I wouldn't have considered feta cheese in the filling. After trying the filling though, I found it to give it a nice flavor. Great video.

  • Great video, Jay. The perogies look great and not difficult to make. I'm going to have to try these!! Thanks for sharing!

  • Progies is my faviourite Canadian food + butter tart as dessert, and I am happy that I learned how make them. Thank you for the wonderful recipe

  • @rraassll You're very welcome.

  • Mmm those look good! I love the colour difference from the spelt flour. Traditionally, cottage cheese is used, actually. In all of the "old-country," recipes I've come across, that's what I always see! Love your videos and blog! Keep up the good work!

  • @sistergrenadine Thank you very much!

  • Я люблю вареники! My baba makes Vereniki that are unreal too!

I think i may make some today! time to call up baba for her recipe.

  • @AlbertsFlasher Awhh...You should try Jay's version. He did jnspire you, after all. : )

  • @thornekatt inspire, even.

  • @AlbertsFlasher Definitely re-learn old traditions and never let that part of your heritage fade away.
