Not all tibetians want this but American media protrays them as the majority who want their independence. If you look at statisitcs, their lives have improved greatly since the chinese had more influence on them and plus, tibet has always been part of China.

Oh yeah China is doing some great things for Tibet, like how they aren't alowed to caryy their flag, or a picture of their leader, one of the most peaceful men we've seen in a while. who also happens to be exiled from his own country. And I suppose all the monks who've been killed in the past protest mean nothing either right? I mean, China would never suppress political or religious opposition right? So they probably deserved what they got.

That is what the Chinese government is doing.

Chinese government has built several Tibetan budhhism institues and Tibetan culture research centres, published numerous Tibetan musics, videos, and documents.

Now in Tibet, Tibetan people can even send cell phone SMS in Tibetan language.

Chinese government also developed software so that Tiebtan people can view and write Tiebtan language on computer, and I even heard many exiled Tibetan also used this software.
