  • i was fishing one day on lake simcoe and i caught a crappie!!!!! it was mid summer

  • @bobevan101 There are lot's of crappie in Lake Simcoe, ON. Most anglers catch them early in the year fishing in the Maskinonge River (Keswick, ON), the Black River (Sutton, ON), and the Peferlaw River (Peferlaw, ON). During the summer months they are much harder to find in high concentrations....God bless you, Italo

  • Hi Italo! I am an avid panfisherman and use ultraligts a lot. I just need some good line. What was the line oyu were using when you caught that rock bass at 3:21? Thanks!

  • @gowolves4 I was using the Rapla Ice Braid in 4 lb. test. It has the diameter of 1 lb. monofilament, casts extremely well. No stretch and really gets the small hooks into the fish...God bless you, Italo

  • I find that ultralight fishing is definitely more challenging. If you hook a bigger fish such as a 2lbs bass, the hooks are so small that it would easily tear from their mouths, even if the drag is set a little bit loose. I tried changing hook size but that could ruin the action of the lure I'm using, and would not allow me to be able to catch the smaller fishes.

Losing a bigger fish frequently is very frustrating, but landing one is so much more satisfying on ultralight tackle.

  • @jsiszero I agree. If you do plan on fishing for larger fish with an ultralight rod, it's really important to use one that is a little stiffer so that you get a good hook-set. Using smaller hooks is actually better since it takes less pressure to get the smaller hook past the barb into the fish, especially when using lighter line....God bless you, Italo

  • im the 600th view

  • @hookincatfish1 That's awesome! I love to fish for catfish too, both bullhead and channel catfish. I even had a chance to fish and catch 60 lb. Vundu Catfish in the Zambizi River on the Zimbabwe/Zambia border, Africa., and large Wells Catfish in the Sea of Galilee, Israel...God bless you, Italo
