In 1980, after smoking 2 packs of cigaraettes for twenty years, I sought the Lord for 14 days to take away my addiction. I then went to a wednesday night Bible study. In the middle of the service an anointing of faith rose up inside of me that it was time for my deliverence from my addiction. After the service, I went and spoke to the Pastor about it. he place his hand on me and prayed for me. I felt nothing nor did anything seem any different, but the cravings never returned. I'm still free.
The point made in the video is more glaring than Xians like to admit. That's bcuz the gospels make it VERY clear how to pray and to expect that your prayers WILL be answered. The gospels are exceptionally clear on this, yet, prayer simply doesn't work, or better yet, god doesn't answer prayer.
The failure of prayer was one thing that got me started in researching the J.C. Religion. The failure of prayer is also one of the biggest problems that the church cannot answer. But I think it's obvious.
Many yrs ago, I watched a 7 yr old little girl die from Bone Cancer, while our whole congregation prayed for her without one of those prayers being answered. I changed my prayer from one of a healing request, to pleading with god to let her die quickly to minimize her suffering. That one didn't get answered and it affected me more than not healing her! That wasn't my 1st experience with failing prayer, but it was the one that broke the camel's back.
@Cootabux She(my friend) had a very close similar experience- she quited after 25years of believing, hoping and lots of prayers and fasting ...She nearly went insane! Now she learn to solve her problems by herself without any prayers! She was brave enough to maker the decision and she never will regret it!!!

I recently lost a lady who was my 1st love. She had become Born Again & used it to overcome drugs. The problem was, she replaced her drug addiction with a religious addiction. She's still in bondage, but I hope 1 day she finds the courage the rest of us have found to stand on our own 2 feet & take responsibility for our choices in life, instead of giving our lives to a tyrannical ghost-god.

The answer to the question depends in part on what counts as "answering prayer". And what is meant by saying "God was missing" ? The very fact the person prayed during the "tough time" @0:41, is a sign of God's Presence with him. Why does God *seem to* abandon us ? Very often to purify us. The question @2:10 contradicts the earlier description of the person :( - the wonder is that we can know God at all ! The video does not match its title. Interesting video, though.
i don't expect u to believe in a God you don't know. Obviously this person never did know God, does that mean He is unknowable? I find its the person who abandons God not God abandoning the person.
so much is wrong with this video. this is crap. all of it. how can you not know god if you have a book called the bible that contains more knowledge on the character of god than you would ever be able to learn in 50 life times. this is sickening.
keep your heart open and he will walk in your life when you don't expect him. The things you pray for will not happen outside you but inside you, so keep praying and you will find him. Go towards others, help them with love and you will receive love and it suddenly all makes sense.
The Bible helps you to know God better. Praying to God and having no response happened many times in the Bible- you should read up on those particular stories. God bless
