  • always wondered how they could have such grand voices after inhaling coal dust

    for 10 hrs at a stretch. . .

  • The two LPs that were the biggest help were that Rhos Men's Choir one I mentioned,

and "A Nation SIngs' recorded at Albert Hall, I think, which included a sermon and Prince Charles at time of his investiture. Don't have the exact dates for either any longer.

  • @injamaven I think Charles' Investiture was in 1969 - no 100% sure though! I wasn't born until the 70s!

Male voice choirs are/were great - nothing like a good sing after being underground for hours! Miners did a grand job :)

  • it is on their LP from way back in the '60s.

  • @injamaven Ah - I see :) Didn't quite make the 60s! Someone may post it sometime - you never know :)

  • Thanks for 'Bryn Calfaria' also. Another of my favorites. Have you heard the Rhos

    boys do this?

  • @injamaven no I haven't heard them doing it - is it on here? I'll do a search :) Thanks for your comments!

  • Thank you for the straight-forward tune. It is a beauty.

  • @injamaven You're welcome - I love the Welsh hymn tunes - a lot are very 'minor' :)
