While I certainly feel that the Catholic Church of today is guilty of many crimes (the worst of which is probably opposing condom distribution in Africa), I really don't think that the Catholic Church of today needs forgiveness for the crimes of the 1930s and 1940s. The people who committed them are dead, and holding grudges when the guilty are dead just leads to cycles of hate.
I read that back then, when xtianity was nothing but a small fringegroup of judaism, when the jews had the upper hand, they themselves treated the christians reeeeeally bad. I do not think the catholics should look for the jews´forgiveness and i pretty much could not care less about who the jews forgive and who they don´t.
I think the only lesson to learn here for every religious fucktard is that religion HURTS!!!
@Shayrah. As he specifically said he was not invoking his magisterial authority, it is more accurate to say that Joseph Ratzinger expresses the opinion that the Jews are exonerated. A Catholic is obliged to reject this, in the same was as we must reject his mistaken view that the Jews do not need Christ.
Whether it is his opinion or something all Catholics should agree with in no way changes the words I spoke in this video. It is messed up to even say such a thing given the history of turmoil and torture inflicted on the Jews by Catholics.
@Shayrah I would try for a package deal, like Superman powers (minus the weakness that everyone in Superman's universe knows about). I think the devil would allow it. My soul is quite valuable.

Well I guess that proves once and for all that he's not a nazi. Oh, and if the devil is reading this, I'd like to make a deal for some magic powers.

This is Benedict XVI's private opinion. He is not expressing my view as a Catholic.

@johnpatmcgirr
That is why the title is "Pope exonerates Jews..." not "Catholics Exonerate Jews.."

We will have to wait and see

It's funny my other post was before I watched this video.
I heard about this 'exoneration' before, but you do know how to put it into perspective.
