Last ive heard a Suzuki Hayabusa (Twin-Turbo) reached a maximum speed of 256mph at The Texas Mile, an arrow-straight runway. And that was only with 1.6km of road to speed on. What if it had more runway? Maybe it could have beaten the SuperSport Veryon, who knows? Lamborghini Gallardo 2006 Heffner Twin Turbos reached 250mph at the same stretch too...

@zohanthecspro The Veyron isn't really about the 253mph. It's how you get there. It's the fact that you can drive it to the bakery on a saturday morning and it's no wild animal. The car is so stable and so refined that virtually everybody can drive it to it's max, I'm not so sure about that with the twin turbo gallardo. Power isn't a hard thing to generate, taming it is what's hard.

The SSC does not have the same aerodynamics, nor does it have the same suspension, therefore, the SSC does have have anywhere near the same handling capability. The SSC is a beast to drive around town. It lacks the refinement and the sophistication. For these reasons, the SSC cannot be considered in the same class as the Veyron. The Veyron is a Hawker 900XP, minus the wings.

the veyron is like a very expensive and complicated watch: many people do not understand the "enormous" price tag. If you however see how extremely sophisticated the production process actually is, and if you realise that both are practically the extremes of human engeneering, you'll understand. I find it amazing that a machine like the veyron is constructed by man, it is so much more than the sum of it's parts. thanks for uploading this, I was really anxious to see it!

To all Bugatti haters:

1.) You think you can have a car with just a fraction of a price that is just like the Veyron, look at the cars made by Ferrari, Lamborghini, Porsche, Mercedes, Audi, etc.., they aren't even a tiny fraction of what the Veyron is.

2.) You think its overpriced, look at the Bentley Continental Super Sports. It is basically a tuned, striped out, GT car

Veyron is not a car, it is a grounded airplaine. Some people have no idea what this machine is about. No wonder it is beyond human limit because many drivers are so accustomed to regular sportcars. Like Raphanel quoted, you need to completely re-calibrate your brain when driving the Veyron.
