You are an amazin player. i've fallen in love with the picc, and i want to play piece of music because you play it so beautifully. Hopefully when i do i can master all the musical elements you have an order to make this concerto sound like you played it.
sounds cool, and by the way, i saw a piccolist out of this world. listen to both parts of this this guy, this music is flawless. search for "freakollo" by Yossi Hamami.
@druexs03 I don't think it's too fast, the difficult bit's practically a cadenza so some liberties can be taken. However it does go very sharp in that bit. Also, I wouldn't play all the tutti bits - you'd have more control over the solo bits if you could take a rest every so often, and it's really not necessary to! Otherwise good - really nice sound!
Who owns a wooden piccolo? I'd love to get one but I'm unsure of how to start daily practice on one sincethey can crack if it's not warmed up properly. I already play piccolo, very tempermental creatures. This movement is great well done!
its only when you get a brand new wooden piccolo that you have to be extremely careful....i believe you should only use it for 1 hour a day once you get it to break it in...after that its ok to use it whenever
holy crap. thats all i can say. blew my mind. ive never heard a piccolo sound so clear, so beautiful, or so proficient. bravo...this one is getting added to my favorites!
nice job! a couple suggestions.. you might want to try opening up your sound a bit more in the lower range :) it'll make the piece all the more beautiful.
also, just minor intonation issues, nothing terribly garish. and just in my opinion - less body movement! I find it very distracting.
overall, a good interpretation! keep working the finesse :)
This is a beautiful piece and in my opinion one of the hardest one to play!! I play on sopranino, which is a counterpart to the piccoloflute!! U play it beautifully dear!! Keep em comin!
Too Fast !!! You change tempo in the more difficult section. Remember, only take a piece as fast as you can play the hardest section. You loose lyrical content when playing too fast also. Slightly slower is better.
@excalibur1812 I agree!! Some people can never give encouragement or praise, they think it's important to critique another's work, like their opinion is important. Usually, they can't do what they are critiquing. These people are commonly referred to as "jackasses." Beautifully played.
@excalibur1812 Well, I guess he can dish it out but he can't take it!!! I've played flute for years and just got a piccolo yesterday. It will take awhile to adjust to it. I doubt I'll ever be this good, but at least I'm trying. And no, because of people like him (I'm assuming its a him), I will never post anything on you tube! Cheers!
this was freakin awesome!! i play the piccolo for a very small school in KS, i wish i could be half as good as you are :) you are now one of my heroes.....
woah....awesome!! a couple intonation issues during octave switches, but in general, really greaT!! (yep, with a capital "T"). i have a piccolo but i don't really play it.. now i have a piece to play!!
I have to play this next semester for my school with a full orchestra.... I can't wait to play it now after hearing you. I noticed that you took out the spaces where the orchestra would play play themselves for a little while.
flute and piccolo fingerings are the same essentially. I am not a flautist so i don't know exactly what the difference is, but I have a friend who plays flute and piccolo and she says they are the same.
all flute fingerings will work on piccolo, but about 1/4 of the fingerings will either b out of tune or hard to get(alternate fingerings make the note easier to pronounce)
piccolo's an amazing instrument, but only with a lot of hard work will we be as good as her =D
But she's turned nightingale before our very eyes and ears and flies beautifully. What more could we ask?
