of 30 points, 13 were against nadal, it proves that no matter the fury of Nadal or Nole aggressiveness are worth nothing when Federer is playing his best
It's often a matter of the contact quality he allows himself to get or not... in that tournament, as you can notice in those highlights, he managed to get very solid depth when he was in trouble or else produce very annoying high bouncing strokes. He could get out of trouble.
If you take him at Wimbledon against Tsonga, his timing was a tad off; he didn't get consistently a solid contact. If you add a good opponents with arguable decisions, that's what happens.
But if you get a Federer who's in solid position, make smart plays and remain aggressive, you'll see him sort of miraculously hitting his average forehands a lot harder, a lot more heavily. And, on that, I'll agree with his coach: very few people can claim to hit heavier balls than Federer.
As you say, if Federer gets to hit forehands when he's in position, you loose the match. His forehand is simply too good.
I really hope that Federer realizes now, that the only thing he has to do against Nadal, is hit to the backhand. Exactly the same thing Nadal has done to him all those years. Everytime federer went to the backhand of nadal he won the point.
@Mmm423 I hope too, dude :) The last point (#1) is the example from the book for how he should play against Nadal - Davydenko-like angled balls to Nadal's backhand. I hope he will employ that strategy against Nadal in, I hope so, semifinal at AO (they are on the same half of the draw).
@Ryan81M His career as a whole in the Masters Cup is just outstanding. Consistently competing against the best and dismantling them over and over and over.
i saw how amazing #30 was and wondered how amazing #1 would be....

Another great video. And the match against Nadal was so great that I'm sure you could have taken all top 30 points from that match alone.
