they are not very tall by Chicago standards, but fifty stories is very tall for Europe and UK in particular. In Canary Wharf, there is a rule that no buildings shall be taller than One Canada Square (set by the ground landlord), although for student schemes, we dont hold them firmly to this. English Heritage seem to oppose all new Tall buildings, regardless of merit or context.
Erm, the Helical tower is the equivalent of around 50 stories including the double- and triple- height sky-courts. The large helical turbine at the top adds about 60 metres to the tower.
