the earthquake of 99' in athens was the worst!!!! i was like 11 years old and i was watching baywatch and my cousins were playing tomb raider. lol my aunt took me and my cousins and their dog and we just runed out of the house!later she told us she knew something bad was going to happen because their dog was barking the whole day and later on my mom told me that my dog was barking the whole day too!so now i know if my dog is worried something is going to happen.

what do you mean? actually greece is always hit by a lot of medium-strong earthquakes, but there are not big damages. this you see in video was a 6.5 richter, same earthquake in italy killed more than 200 people.

all buildings from the 70ies till today are anti-seismic.

Apart from all the awful comments here, I was in Greece at the time of this earthquake and I have to say it was terrifying. I was on the 4th floor and it wasnt a swaying kind of earthquake like you see on videos of Kobe in Japan but it was like a pile-driver. It was a bam bam bam up and down which caused the lower floor to be damaged. Heavy furniture in our aparment jumped up and down across the room breaking floor tiles along the way. Dont want to live through something like that again!

I am American and I was there too. it was my first time in Greece visiting relatives in Amaladia. It was my second day there , we were having lunch and all of a sudden there was a loud boom and the table jumped. Scared the shit out of me! Im from NJ so Im not used to this shit like people in California. I was nervous for the rest of my two weeks there.
