Secondly, I just got hired with Publix about 3 weeks ago. They are one of the top 100 employers to work for in the USA. Lots of benefits, room for advancement, etc. Their lowest paid manager position (assistant department manager) starts out at roughly $43K a year, which ends up being about $60K a year after benefits, stock options, etc. The company buys stock and gives it to it's employees for free. They are 100% employee owned. They have their own credit union. Must have failed the drug test.
So basically...you hate them because you didn't get a job? But it sounds like you have a massive pride problem and have some "growing up" to do in regards to the real world. If you do in fact have a college education - you should be educated enough to know that in today's market, someone with a year of experience in a grocery store environment WILL get the job over someone with no real-world work experience and just a college degree. That's how it goes.

@fearxlink Part timers can buy stock after one year with 1000 hours... it just depends on how much you work. I know part timers pulling 35-39 hours a week that can buy stock if they want. Everyone is limited in how much stock they can buy at once though.

I work at Publix, and it couldn't be a better place to work. I got hired the day I turned 15. Publix offers so many great benefits, that if you join the company at a young age i guarantee you, that you will be worth millions by the time that you retire. Im only sixteen now and own many shares of stock that the company has given me. Its not that hard to get hired. I currently work at Publix. It's a good place to work. The managers are respectful, and the store is ran efficiently. I think this kid is a tad arrogant, but I can understand where he is coming from. A retarded employee use to work at my store, and she was terrible, terrible employee. She had the same amount of hours a week I did. I resented this. @ComradeRook It depends on where you work in the store, and all the minors (kids under 18) are almost guaranteed to be limited to bagging, and part-time baggers can make a maximum of I believe $8.75 per hour. BUT, they don't start you off making the maximum obviously, they start you at minimum wage, which here is $7.25 at the moment,.. That may be half-decent if you work 40 hours a week, but if you're under 18 the most you'll ever see is 25 (unless it's a special case.) I just hate frontend.

@fearxlink Part timers can buy stock after one year with 1000 hours... it just depends on how much you work. I know part timers pulling 35-39 hours a week that can buy stock if they want. Everyone is limited in how much stock they can buy at once though.

I work at Publix, and it couldn't be a better place to work. I got hired the day I turned 15. Publix offers so many great benefits, that if you join the company at a young age i guarantee you, that you will be worth millions by the time that you retire. Im only sixteen now and own many shares of stock that the company has given me. Its not that hard to get hired. If you want to get hired go in and try to speak to a manager, that away they can put a name with a face. I Love Publix!!!!!!

I currently work at Publix. It's a good place to work. The managers are respectful, and the store is ran efficiently. I think this kid is a tad arrogant, but I can understand where he is coming from. A retarded employee use to work at my store, and she was terrible, terrible employee. She had the same amount of hours a week I did. I resented this. I commend Publix for reaching out to disabled individuals, but staffing them at the expense of hard working individuals like myself just isn’t fair

@ComradeRook It depends on where you work in the store, and all the minors (kids under 18) are almost guaranteed to be limited to bagging, and part-time baggers can make a maximum of I believe $8.75 per hour. BUT, they don't start you off making the maximum obviously, they start you at minimum wage, which here is $7.25 at the moment,.. That may be half-decent if you work 40 hours a week, but if you're under 18 the most you'll ever see is 25 (unless it's a special case.) I just hate frontend.

Publix has a reputation for hiring people with mental issues, and also they probably didn't hire you at 14 because of the strict laws in place put in by the state dumb ass |: .
