@S1337ghost Nope, that's just one use of the high dynamic range. What you described is one form of tone mapping, which is used to display high dynamic range images on low dynamic range devices. What is shown in the video, is known as "adaptive exposure rendering." The HDR image is sampled in some key locations to compute the current exposure and the tonemapping is adjusted accordingly. This simulates what happens when you look at something very bright and then at something dark.
hi, i downloaded the hdr file, but i think it doesn't work correctly on my pc. the lights don't change as in the video. can you help me? i'd like to see the scripts cause i'd like to learn all this (and i don't know how). by the way you are a genius.

thats not HDR ....
HDR means that you can see detail in both dark as light places which is not the case here.
