  • This is such a hoot.

  • This is the best! I remember watching tv as a kid, and the local channels were loaded with these cheezy ass commercials!

  • LOL, Lansdowne and Pape are on the opposite sides of the city.

  • 4650 Lansdowne. I don't even have to see this to remember that address!!

  • How the f is this offensive? Let's not have ANY humor what so ever, because it makes FUN of people. Jesus.......oh wait, I'm sorry...........

  • Most of the cast members and writers were JEWISH so it is OK. Move on.

  • No doubt. Well put.

  • ...oh and most comediens PERIOD are jewish...successful ones anyways.

  • @UFOSPACE1999 Not sure bout' the writers of SCTV(Murray,Doleman,Blasuci, etc.), but the only Jews on the cast were Gene,Rick and Harold.

  • I don't find anything offensive about this clip, I'd definitely shop at Crazy Hy's if they were a real business! Good deals all around! 19" TV for $19 ?! I'll be there with bells on!

  • I live in Toronto. Lansdowne and Pape don't meet! Lansdowne is in Parkdale (West) and Pape is in the East End. Now if they said Bathurst just North of Wilson now that would be more believable!

  • Actually they rarely mentioned intersections when naming streets in Toronto...they just named random ones.

  • @jherikurl Yeah but this show is based out of a fictional town. And saying that 2 streets in the east end and west end meet is even more funnier.

  • @steeltownbrown52 : I know dude. Melonville. I was being sarcastic. But Lansdowne and Pape are really 2 streets in Toronto.

  • @jherikurl Yeah I'm pretty familiar with the T.O references in SCTV. I myself hail from Marty,Dave and Gene's hometown-Hamilton.

  • @steeltownbrown52 : Ya I guess you need a good sense of humour to live in the Hammer ;) I'm just down the 6 highway from ya in Port Dover.

  • You said it was "so offensive"...not "BORDERING on being" offensive...and calm down. I was just trying to make a point.

  • 1st! So offensive yet so fucking brilliant, IMO.

  • Why would anyone find this offensive?

  • I was more commenting on what u could get away w.back then vs what u can do now. My gf was brought up Jewish & I don't think that u could find many Jewish people who WOULDN"T find this HIGHLY offensive. I can take a survey if u like. ;D

  • People are way too sensitive about everything and need to relax and laugh at their own people. I'm Italian and German and I don't care. Look at old Warner Brothers cartoons. Everytime you see an Italian he's making pizza or he's an organ grinder or he's a mafia thug. Germans are always nazis, or ordering people around. I think this video is very tame. To me it just looks like a parody of a poorly made commercial with jews for a local television station. People read too much into everything.

  • I'm not being sensitive or taking offense; I'm saying that this is FUNNY because it's using stereotypes and BORDERING on being offensive to drive the bit home. Not that it's any of your concern, but I worked as a comedy writer in the industry for the better part of 40 YEARS, and that's the angle I was taking w/this vid. If I was overly sensitive; I couldn't have hacked it as a comedy writer for a single DAY, IMHO.

  • Well is your a fan of comedy and you find this offensive... I suggest you dont watch Pryor,Murphy,Carlin,Foxx,Clay or Dangerfield (lots more as well). Who ALL just happen to be considered comedic geniuses

  • Look, no offense, but did you actually READ what I actually WROTE above, mate?
