i have the same trimmer, it seems every time i fill it with gas the carb needs adjusting to new gas from the same can, it 2 stroke gas must deteriorite fast

I have 3-echo (gt1100),2-echo (gt2000) and 2-echo (srm-210).echo is simply amazing quality.I run mine hard and i have never had to do any maintenance on them even though i know it is time.

hmmm....muffler sounds like an oily problem, as they always get oil+dirt build up....ill just remove the thing lol

yeah i got an older....gt 160 AE or something it starts but once you get it past 1/2 choke to the run position it stalls....even when you give it full throttle it stalls on RUN...and i also have an older gt 2000 i think? from roughly the same year and i cant even get that one to run at all...it will fire on choke spray but....will not continue to run...thanks if you can help

I would start with cleaning the carbs and resetting the fuel mixture. I am sorry there is no real short cut for these as the particles that can mess them up are tiny. You could start by just removing the mixture screws and cleaning out the passageways and then try setting the fuel mixture.

i have the SAME ONE but if the air cleaner thiingy is on it wont start with it off half a turn and it starts right up

Sounds like you got yours figured out

Won't start with the air cleaner installed but will start without it = Mixture is too rich or carb is slightly dirty.

Hey I've actually got this problem!! Cool video!! Those little 2-cycle puppies get nasty gummed up if you mix too much oil in with the gas. I had a kid do about a half N half job and he just gummed it up terrible. Black smoke all over the place! I'll bet cleaning it out like this would help!!

With an over mix of oil to gas you could also have a problem with oil build up in the muffler. I would do the cleaning and then before I attempted to reset the mixture screws I would loosen the muffler bolts to allow it to flow freely. I ran into this very problem with an older unit that I was working on today.

I almost pulled to exhaustion before I noticed the muffler was plugged, I was actually fighting 4 problems at once.
