You two are beautiful! I love your dreads, mom. Thank you for showing me this tool because I havn't done beads in so long I didn't know this tool existed. Lol And that's bad becaue I have 3 girls. But I'll be doing them again. & you're right about this craziness w/ these parent's and their children's hair. I hadn't seen this until I came to Florida and saw A TODDLER IN A STROLLER w/ her hair permed. Poor thing. Thank you again for these tutorials. God bless.
@gma904 You are welcome. I will be posting a new vid on braids and beads because I got so many views and questions in a few days. Glad you enjoyed and happy to know it was helpful.
Girrrrl, you took me BACK! I grew up in the 80s/90s, and my mom always put foil on the ends of my braids to put the beads on. By the time I was a pre-teen I found the foil way too embarrassing and ditched the beads altogether. Now that I'm grown, I want to bring it back tho.
thank you so much for the video! i'm a white mother and I must say i was totally disgusted with the tyra banks show! I refuse to do that to my daughters hair. Sure she's only 18 months but she will accept her beautiful hair!!!
Thk u very much for the explaination. I bought beads for my little girls hair and it came w/ a beader but I never knew how to use it! I only did it a couple of times, because it was such a struggle to and put the hair in the beads w/out the little tool....lol.
I appreaciate this video, alot of women of color should see it. My mother unfortunately relaxed my hair at the age of 5. I wished i could have had natural styles but she was against the ethnic looks. I now have a daughter who is 13 months and has alot of hair. Its so beautiful, soft and thick. I wished i learned how to cornrow, do you have any tutorials on cornrowing?
@Ambherandr As a matter of fact I do have a video on how to braid. I am going to post another tutorial by the end of the week. I have gotten so many request on Hair Tutorials for little girls. So I have decided to spend more time on these type of vids. Do not give up it is easier than it looks.
@flmurray I bought the tool at the beauty supply and it does not have a name. Where i live it is included with the beads. Check out your neighborhood beauty supply store they should have it.
@lebaneseprince25 No I do not use mousse or gel. My daughters hair really does not frizz. The only time I notice braids frizzing on other people is if they leave the hair up for at least a month. It really depends on the hair type I guess.
I was getting my hair done in the 90's with my mom using foil for my beads. I still use foil whenever I do my cousin's hair. Maybe I'm resistant to all these new gadgets..lol. Great video..your daughter is beautiful.
Thanks. My wife is out of town and my 5 yr old daughter has been putting her beads in her mouth and several of the front braids have lost all their beads. I can braid, but didn't know how to tie the beads on, but now I do. Good look!
@Jordan0730 Ahhhh that is so wonderful I am so glad that I can help dads. You are a great father doing your daughters hair. That made my day just know that we are able to help someone. Blessings
@Jordan0730 I must say you brought a smile to my face because its very rare to hear of or see fathers doing their daughter's hair where i come from. My brother fixes my nieces ponytails but he doesn't do her hair. I personally think its beautiful that you opted to learn, instead of having your daughter's hair looking disheveled when your wife isn't there. Keep it up. You're a great father for doing that.
I know thats right about the mentality some parents are teaching their daughters about their natural hair. Its sad. But thanks for the tutorial...easy and quick.
@lisa9047 you are very welcome. I have a new vid with her to upload. She cut some of her hair so I slowed down on making the vids. We will be back soon.
thank you so much for your video.... you got to the point and showed us how to use that instrument that i always see at the store. Easy, fun, fast thank you so much...
Thanks bunches. I am counting on that video. (big smile) so make it sooner than later. LOL I do tie down the hair so I know I am doing something wrong. Really looking forward to that video. LOL
Here's my problem. I am not good at braiding to the degree that it can stay for a long time. I find myself doing the hair almost every two days. Perming seems to at least keep the hair neat. I haven't permed it for nine months but am frustrated that I can't keep the hair from being frizzy. Thanks for teaching me how to put beads on the hair. I hope it works well for me. Your video was quite instructional. Appreciate it
@moorejoyinaday As soon as I get some free time I am going to do an instructional video on how to braid hair. Braids should last longer than two days without frizzing especially if you tie them down at night. I am glad to know my vid was helpful but I want to make sure you get the most out of it. Will do a vid sooner than later.
thanks for this vid!! my daughter hair just got grew enough for beads and i just bought the beader things lol and didn't know how the heck to use it!! thanks hun!!
I wanted to know how many braids are there in this vid and second, do you feel like the beads break her hair off? And how do you remove them? Great vid, by the way, please do more
@Banksparty4 Greetings you know the beads do not break her hair at all. I take them off by either cutting the rubber band or just taking it off. I am not sure how many braids I had in her hair. It was two layer I think all together it was about 30. Thanks so much for the compliment. I have done more vids I have not uploaded them yet. I promise I will get around to them soon. One Love
@TheClaudia112 Yes I can. As a matter of fact I am working on a series now. How I wash and condition her hair as well as two strand twist. A style she wears her hair in most of the time. Especiallly in Summer. Coming soon.
I just watched your video, and this is so true I myself have 2 mixed babies one being a girl and her hair is hard to do.. In my process of trying to do differnt things with her hair.. Ive run across so many ppl telling me to relax my 2 yr olds hair..NOOOOOOOOOOOOO THANKS YOU.. i feel when she is old enough to do her own hair she can make that choice but thats somthing i wont be doing..
@TheJamieRay Good for you. I have more vids on styles for little girls up soon. They do not need relaxers at such a young age. To much money damage and time.
I been wanting to put my daughter's hair in beads, but never knew how I use to the old skool way too with the folis on the end,but they don't do that now. Thanks for showing it step by step, and it slowing, cause the vidoes I watched,do it too quicky.
@blackswan9 As far as I know it does not have a name. The place that I but the beads from the item comes in the bag with the beads. The next time I visit the beauty supply I will ask if anyone knows what it is called. Thanks for the comment
I totally agree that you dont have to relax a childs hair just because its not straight. Some people told me I should put a relaxer on my lilttle girls hair because its really curly and thick. I told them it might be a challenge to come her hair but I will let her make the decision to perm her hair. I usually just have it braided or put into pony tails. Sometimes I run out of ideas, so can you make some videos on how to style your kids hair pls. Thanks for the video
I saw that show I thought it was crazy but in todays society if you have natural hair it's still hard to except for kids because they have been told that straight hair is beautiful. One little girl on that had really long hair and she got teased because it was so long and her mother told her it was because everyone was jealous of her . It was really sad.
I am glad we can help. We will be doing more tutorials soon with some simple beautiful styles and more detail. We have been busy with cheer and my business of course but we will be back soon. Peace and Prosperity.
