@sippymax sorry man, i think Philx uses a tonemaster and an  vox ac40, those amps are really expensive (i think the tonemaster went for a million) the secret is the tubes!!!!! most solid state amps suck, especially line 6, i know cause i got one, just remember man tone is mostly finger wise. it also depends on your budget if you really need something else you should check out the vox clasic rock amplug, check out my videos i posted some with the amplug and one with the line 6

Basically, hollow body guitar are excellent for hard rock. The sound is well resonated and sounds rich and full, when the guitar is distorted. And as already mentioned, just check out Malcom Young and generally the AC/DC stuff.
