Well, you lose if the product you're buying isn't really green. Which to me means organic, sweat-shop free, environmentally friendly, fair trade, and not animal tested. But slapping the word "green" on something doesn't mean anything. It needs to have official government labeling like USDA organic for it to be trustworthy/legitimate. The "Green Movement" is a scam in some regard since people will buy things more willingly if they think it's helping save the planet.

@XCritonX of course there will be people who will try to profit off 'green', just as they will try to profit off anything they can. that's why we need to check labels and be informed about what we're putting in our bodies and into the water supply. but to label all the people who are making changes for the sake of humanity that way is really misguided. there is far more profit to be made stopping any environmental progress than there is supporting it.

Almost anything is toxic at a certain level. There are numerous examples, iron is needed for your body to function properly but too much and you can poison yourself. Although its good to know what you bring into your life (foods, health products, even lawn care) you should recognize that just because something is toxic at high levels doesnt mean it isnt safe at the levels in some products. Get educated and decide yourself what you want to use; don't take someone else's word for it.

Ok. I checked out the cosmetics site and it seems exagerated. Alot of the chemicals ARE dangerous and it's good that they are telling people, but a great number arent really that bad. The one that stood out for me was Citric Acid. This is just stupid. The majority of items seem blown out of porportion. I like knowing that some of these chemicals are present but there has to be at least SOME discretion. Do they mean I should stop eating oranges? Im outta room but I hope people check things out.
