  • Let me be like everybody else----" I am a fetus in my mother's womb and I like Little Richard!!!! Can you be more impressed with me????!!!!

  • Who in their right minds could dislike this?

    I know it's only rock'n'roll, but I like it!

  • Holy crap, I was 7 was this song was released! Although I'm into Indie and alternative music today, this song still does it for me. Rock on Richard!

  • WOO HOOOO Gonna ball it up! :)

  • Ah! The original and the best take of them all. So much fire. No one is better than Richard Penniman. NO ONE.

  • 1 person who disliked this was Little Richard

  • Like who hate's 50's muisc Its Really cool I wish I was boring in the 40's so I'll be in my teens in the 50's

  • the black version of elvis little richard FTW

  • @skyarme Don't insult Richard with that patronizing, racist description. If anything Elvis was the pale (in every sense) version of Little Richard.

  • One person, the one who clicked dislike, has no balls!

  • Nowhere near as good as The Living End's.

  • PLAY LOUD !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    GOOGLE JOHAN CAPIAU

    ROCK UR BLUES AWAY

    THE GOLDEN SIXTIESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS

    AND THE DIAMOND 2011

    LOL

  • 1 person isnt going to rock it up...

  • hit it richard ! great singer.

  • Little Richard´s honking melody is superb!. Little Richard knows how to tweedle, he knows how to do an incredible "falsetto" and he also knows how to rock every song he sings. That´s why he is the king of rock and roll.

  • when i was a teenager this guy was the coolest cat on the raido. remember we had no 8 track no cassett tapes no cds. only hi-fedility phonographs and raido. we rocked out to little richard . great performer.

  • @campwill3 i wasn't even born when this was made, but i've always had a diverse taste in music and discovered his stuff when i was a teen. still love it.

  • very good version of rip it up from a big star of Rocknroll (from PARIS15)

  • gene vincent my arse, his voice rules. His band kikcs ass.

  • Gene Vincent sings it with more credibility and sincerity.

  • The self-proclaimed queen of Rock and Roll!

  • THANK YOU!!! i kept finding crap versions of this song by other people. this one has always been the best to me. THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!!!!

  • LEGEND!

  • yeah Great Version! Thanks U!

  • @christinecassin i know little richard was the original i just like the movie version a little beater mainly because of the guitar solo

  • this version rocks but i personaly like the version from la bamba the best

  • @138hyde little richard was the original of this song..more soul.

  • One Baaaaaaaaadass

  • The true King of Rock & Roll-

  • best verison and best of all

and put it on maxium volume

  • Los Lobos version sounds good to me...

  • great song

  • im a kid and i hate all pop and rap and listen to this and i love it dont no why a lot of people have forgotten about it

  • little richard is amazing chuck berry in my view is rubbish

  • @irocladdreadnought All Little Richard did was sing and take credit for shit that wasn't his. Chuck Berry birthed Rock and Roll and without him we wouldn't have what we do today. If Little Richard didn't exist what would we be missing?

  • @demsmyfeet 1 bad ass, mutherfuckin' singer-

  • @demsmyfeet You sound like one of he biggest damn fools known to man kind talking some nonsense like that.

  • @demsmyfeet Chuck Berry took credit for plenty that wasn't his as well. I can't even imagine r'n'r without either of them. Richard with the horn-driven music and Chuck with the guitar. You need them both. Plus, listen to Richard's voice - the unadulterated enthusiasm. It's infectious. I won't pick one of them over the other.

  • @demsmyfeet I love Richard and think his singing is unparalleled for rocking energy, but you are 100% right on the money when you talk about Chuck Berry. The guy singlehandedly raised the level of Rock and Roll to an art form. He showed that this new music could be a vehicle for complete stories and personal expression not just nonsense lyrics and catchphrases. Because of Chuck Berry Rock and Roll became a legitimate songwriting art alongside every other.

  • @jackiechampion Yeah-no Berry, no Lennon. But Berry always disappoints with his sloppiness and dismissal of his own legacy. Little Richard never sullied his reputation and always rocked with legit arrogance.

  • @saguaroboy I agree with you, Chuck too often treats his shows like just a paycheck. The legacy thing you mention is interesting. I think if he'd been given the praise and exalted position in music history he deserves he'd appreciate his legacy more. He seems to not understand his own essential importance to R&R. There should be shelves of books written about his impeccable songcraft and innovative guitar genius. Where are the statues of him commemorating his musical contribution to the world?

  • @irocladdreadnought Old comment, but Chuck berry is great also, you don't have to choose one to have a favorite,

  • Rock hard Rock heavy and play it loud and play it again.

Little Richard the true KING OF ROCK 'N' ROLL.

  • This is my fav Little Richard song. It is the essence of early rock and roll, bee-bop, pure funk - for me.

  • Sorrry but to ball means to FUCK !!!

  • YEAH....you go Richard!

  • Saw Little Richard back in the sixties when he was brought in to prop up the flagging Everley Brothers tour in Uk - he brought the house down - drove the audience mad - it was the single most impressive gig I ever saw. Interesting though to see what Elvis did with this original number - he really did rip it up.

  • Little Richard and Chuck Beery are the best

  • Yep,

    Coke rules

    Just kidding everybody happy easter!

  • Richard Penniman was the king of Rock n' Roll.

  • @Patel10314 they all was kings my friend they was real musicians not this bubble gum crap we get nowadays

  • Kids these days forgot what good music is :(

  • soory I am the W'er...

  • They used to hide sexual inuendos in rock in the 50's ball it up was inner city slang for fucking

  • "Have a ball" means to have a party, have fun. "Ball it up" could concievably mean have a party. "Ball" means to screw or otherwise engage in sexual coition.

  • What does it mean "and ball tonight"? Sorry my English not so good. Thank you.

  • @nicodagger

A dance or disco in the 50's was referred to as a ball ( from the term "ballroom" meaning dance hall) To "have a ball" means to enjoy yourself, or have a great time. It does not mean in any particular way - only that you enjoy yourself ! or have fun ! (or dance to the music).

Many thanks for posting the original, philly0080 !

  • This song has been covered by everybody. Little Richard does a decent job...can't we see some live clips?

  • His version is the best of them all. thanks for uploading.

  • @felixbautista i have better studio version, louder screaming etc.

  • @felixbautista The la bamba movie version is better! Way better but it was more modern too but i agree this is the best at that time

  • @felixbautista I do believe youre right

  • @felixbautista I dunno, I prefer Buddy's, but this is great too

  • @felixbautista The Greatest Rock & Roll SInger EVER.

Why? Because Rock & Roll singing comes from the Church and Richard brought it.

  • i know people will have a go, and i love little richard and this version is great, but i really prefer john lennon's version, he mixed it with buddy holly's ready teddy, and his voice just sounds amazing on that song. it's faster than this one too...

  • better than elvis this song sniways

  • great song! i like little richard. he gets it on.

  • just got paid!

  • 88?

  • Rocket 88-the engine in the Oldsmobile autos from that era

  • 88 was one of Oldsmobile's MODEL names for its cars, as well, from the late '40s into the late '60s, I believe, when the name "Delta 88" took over.

  • Thx.

    The Both Of You.

  • ohhhhhhhhhhh yeahhhhhhhhhhhhh

  • Thank you, I have been looking for this version for ages.

  • play it loud!
