LaCroix was the character who made this show worth watching. None of that Anne Rice existential angst for him. So when he really did have a broken heart, it was compelling. The song is a perfect match for the mood.
Couldn't agree more. I like how he is realistic and honest. He seems harsh and cruel much of the time, but I think he merely tries not to do what Nick falls into. Nick is absorbed in a new woman every week and fools himself about his own abilities and limitations. LaCroix tries to know exactly who he is and what he is capable of. He does not attempt to cosmetically enhance what he finds in himself or in the world around him.
