I have 3 Hastings knives.

Reading about Don Hastings was what got me started forging blades.

Now only Bill Bagwell remains of the original 3.

A properly forged knife will do amazing things, I know I make them.

for the strongest damascus use O-1 tool steel , S-2 recycled jackhammer bits and mild steel. Dr. Ray Rantanen retired NASA rocket scientist makes the strongest damascus I know.

I saw Ray make a knife. Ray did unbelievable abuse to the knife and did not harm the blade or sharpness. Must be one of the very best knives ever made.
