  • Awesome. This is my favorite show. I often take inspiratiin from the funky drum grooves in the background music of the show. That kind of stuff is fun to play and sound really cool.

    thanks

  • I play the drums just like you eh, my school band is playing it, but u make it seem so much better...

  • I am looking forward to seeing "Shine a Light" the new doc chronology about The Stones tours. Charlie Watts has always been a rather muted and silent figure on the Stone's stage perfomances. What is your opinion of him and do you recall any number that made him seem less of set decoration? I call recall "Paint it Black" and "Honky Tonk Women" off the top of my head. But what do you think is his most mememorable song? Iron Butterfly had a long drum solo (20 min).Did you here or even care for it?

  • I'll send you a regular message.i can respond in 500 or less......Smitty

  • Thank-you.Yes ,I have a couple of vids up with other covers.

  • Smitty I'm wondering if on the Columbia Records version of TV intro if they were using kettle drums or some other heavy drum, especially on those initial rolls.

  • Yes they were. Timpanis were used. It's 2 separate parts actually. Great tune huh?

  • Hello again Smitty, I hope you realise my previous comment was in jest. However, could you have combed your forelocks into a JL quiff and rotated before commencing. PS I enjoyed your drumming, do you get on well with your neighbors?

  • Thank-you. Yes I did realize the jest. Found it quite amusing. Neighbors cant hear a peep! Please stop by anytime and I hope one day you can get your socks mended......Smitty

  • Thanks.

  • I appreciate that the ear defenders are to prevent long term ear-hole damage, but what about younger viewers, who may conclude that you don't listen to your own sound. For the final take you should remove the ear defenders.

  • Point well taken. Mine are the kind in which you may hear both. Thanks for your comment.

  • Many drummers like Virgil Donati ( the best ) use the left hand ( old style ) .Very Nice My friend!!Keep on Rockin'.Muchos bateristas como virgil donati ( el mejor ) usan su mano izquierda ( al viejo estilo ) .Muy bien amigo!!Sigue Rockeando!!

  • Thank-you. Appreciate the comment.

  • Very Nice !

    Left hand old style ?

    Well Done !

  • Thank-you!! Yes, traditional grip on the left. It's just easier for me.
