I own one of these and took a hit to the drivers door by a bronco at 55mph I can personally tell you this is one of the safest vehicles on the road. Ours is still going strong at almost 200k. I have a 2001 Outback with green on top of Gold. It's absolutely beautiful to drive, just like new (with 163,000 miles on the clock)! The most exciting part about this car is driving on snow! I always tell my friends that Subaru Outback is probably the most capable car on snow! (one of them anyway! :))

I just bought a 2001 Subaru Outback with 130,000 and it is like a new car...still tight and runs like a dream. Everything on it works absolutely fine no problems. Luv it!

@upinya72 Just bought a 99 with 140k replaced head gasket 1200 bucks but i bought it knowing that, everything works nothing is broken runs like new if my 99 drives like this i want to drive a 2010 or 2011.

@grant227 I had the same problem, common with these 2.5's I read. Fixed mine with a 60$ bottle of Blue Devil gasket sealer.

It looks worse than it is. it did very well actualy gov rated 5 stars.If you look at other cars,most do not hold up this well.that was 45mph I think.thanks fo the comment.

I think you misunderstood the statement. I know Subies are the best, I'm trying to say that's all you ever hear on commercials (About the five☆ safety rating). I wasn't talking about Subaru.
