Fourth of July is one of the absolute best of the grunge-depressing-suicide rock songs ever written, and only Soundgarden should do it. Chris cornell's vox are unmatched, and if a band covers a song (esp by such a unique sounding band as soundgarden) you better be ready to make it your own. Dont draw attention to how mediocre you are by covering a song far more soulful and bigger then you will ever be.

Not a bad cover all in all. I'm not a big Evanescence fan but they get a thumbs up from me on this one. I especially appreciate Amy's range. She was low when she needed to be low.

amy did fine so leave her alone. this isn't one my fav. covers that ev does, but before criticizing her so much... go listen to their cover of Korn's thoughtless. it is truly amazing. and amy can sing ANYTHING she wants too, and can sing it GREAT too. give her credit for trying at least. amy is the greatest singer in the worls and evanescence is the best band in the world. but this just wasn't their music, so it was different. back off and show some respect is basically my point here people!

Fourth of July is one of the absolute best of the grunge-depressing-suicide rock songs ever written, and only Soundgarden should do it. Chris cornell's vox are unmatched, and if a band covers a song (esp by such a unique sounding band as soundgarden) you better be ready to make it your own. This doesn't deliver--i do respect that Soundgarden is one of their favorites though!

Yeah, sure, they arent Soundgarden, and Amy Lee is only good for one thing, but I notice that she's not trying to be Chris Cornell, and to a degree has put her own twist on it.

I think she has an excellent voice, but I find everything about them is too similar to Lacuna Coil, if not them, then glorified goth/emo.

they're really different from lacuna coil. different from everyone else out there n fact. evanescence is 1 of the most unique bands that there is. nothing like them has been seen before, and probably never will be n the future. and amy has nothing to do with the goth/emo shit everyone believes she does. on stage, she dresses goth, but n real life she is like a normal person. when performing, amy lets out all her dark side and then n real life she can have fun and be happy. she's NOT goth/emo!

I think you should leave the house more often. Its great you think so highly of her, infact I admire you somewhat for having dreams.
All I did was exercise my right as a free born New Zealander and expressed an opinion I have on them. I think shes a good singer, but I dont like evanescence.
Maybe you should get a real job, or another purpose in life rather than defending thier dignity to people your unlikely to meet.

i have a purpose in life. and i can't wait to show you and everyone it when i'm ten years older or so. then you'll see why i stand up for evanescence so much. and i will meet amy sometime. it will be a while, but i'll just go to a meet and greet before one of their shows. it'll be quite the task to meet her, but it's entirely possible, and someday i will. all the best to you too though, and thanks for not screaming at me at least ( : as you can probably guess, i get a lot of that on here!
