  • check out my tiger barbs fighting!!!!!

  • yep hes right i am going to get the on wednesday

  • Haha they're not fighting, they're native to doing that. they nip at eachothers fins for fun

  • i have tiger barbs in a 38 gal and they do that all the time

  • Comment removed

  • how do you sex tigerbarbs

  • @superfishman123 males are slimmer and have red nose tips and red tails. females are fatter, with little red.

  • @superfishman123 you dont "sex" fish u mate them and just google it

  • @chewinggum365 he means how do you tell the gender

  • @MrMegaUltraPivot well now i just feel stupid

  • I just got my first tank started and I chose barbs. I have a green, a tiger and 2 rosy barbs. They are all right at 1 inch. (very young). Will their colors come out like these guys? I hope so.

  • @dontbeapunk1 give it time. for tiger barbs, only the males get more colorful when they get older. as you can see, the males have more red in their tails and on their nose tips. for rosy barbs, the males become more red across most of their bodies when they get older. So if you start seeing red, you've got males.

  • mine cost 59c and 3.00$ for 6 albino and regular

  • i bought 2 tiger barbs each cost 2.14 and a black fin tetra for 2.14 they get alone well

  • mines fight every time i put hot watter in ther fishtank

  • the red 1 always wins lmao! he is smaller..or she..idk...they may be sexin..lol

  • i have two small barbs in a 1 gallon....they have alot of room but its funny seeing them fight one has a red tipped fin and the other is more of a faint orange....the red one always wins...i call him wes welker and the other 1 tom brady

  • Mine never fight... Either among themselves or the other fish in the tank

  • I recently had similar to this...but they were face-to-face for about 5 minutes in a 'top-fish' fight! they bumped noses all over the tank and were smashing into anything...in the end the original 'alpha' fish retained his title...so i felt a bit sorry for the bruised one lol!

  • hey I think I noticed a fish early on that looked like a zebra danio. Do you have any zebra danios?

  • PS: they may eat eachother to :P.

  • There should be 20 tiger barbs atleas or they can be very aggresive.

  • 6+ I hear

  • tiger barbs are hardy as fuck!! they live through tap water, shampoo and out of water for fucking 10 minutes!

  • Really? Everytime I've had them they die like fuck!! I used to buy 10 & after no time at all there would be 1 left!!!

  • Fight,Fight,Fight

  • i noticed your torpedo barbs, how much you pay for them each?

  • i only got one and he was $38!

  • @BlueE9903 you got ripped off! i bought two and they only cost me $1.98 each

  • were you buy them at??

  • How many tiger barbs are in there. i want a school that big.

  • 8. good luck with yours!

  • I have four TB, and a couple of days ago, they were doing something similar, but a lot more aggressive, someone tell me is that's a fight or I'm going to have more fish?

  • it's most likely just a fight like mine did.

  • there is actually 2 chasing one right as i write this. So im guessing sex with a female, what is your opinion?

  • sorry i'm late, but if the two have red on their tails and snout, they're straight males tryna chase and mate with the female.

  • My tiger barbs just had a fight but they have stopped FOR NOW!

im just wondering are they fighting for a female barb to breed with, there in a 40 gallon tank and there are 6 tiger barbs

    thanks

PLEASE comment back as soon as possible

    :)

  • fighting for:1) a female for sex 2) dominance/move up in the hierarchy

  • ive got two tiger barbs and a siameese fighting fish in together which was a bad idea as the tigers are forever nipping at his fins....

  • i had 2 tiger barb but after putting new gravel in they both dies during that night great shame but my 2 rosy barb survived

  • are you going to keep that red tail shark in there?

  • i was thinking about getting tiger barbs. they dont fight until death do they? and will all males or all females get along? i dont want them to breed. i dont know if they will in the tank or if they would only breed in a tank breeder.

  • tiger barbs are like people. some don't get along. I had slight success with these tiger barbs. there's one or two dominant ones that cause trouble and will harass the others into submission (injury and death). So i guess the key is to have a big tank and a lot of tiger barbs (15 or more) to spread out the aggression. Some people say to have at least 6, but trust me that's not enough to spread out aggression!

  • thees fish are semi-aggresive. You shouldnt put them with other fish only in groups of other tiger barbs

  • I don't think they'll cause much trouble to his RTBS.

  • I know tiger barbs have to be in groups of about 7, but i was wondering if i could get like 3 tiger barbs 3 albinos and like 1 green tiger barb in a 12 gallon tank with weekly 25% water changes and ideal water conditions? Im not sure if i'd be overstocking or not but i doubt that they will get to be their maximum size anyways. Please help

  • that's fine man. all types of tiger barbs can get along. they only get to be around 2 inches so a 12 gal is ok for 7. make sure they got a lot of aeration, on top of the ideal conditions. they're tight fish!good luck.

  • thanks a lot. the fish i asked about are going to be the next fish i get. im new with the fish keeping hobby and i have 6 neons and 3 x ray tetras. one died i got it when it was an adult and unfortunatly i used them to cycle the tank. didnt realize theres other ways to do it. but they seem like they're happy. thanks for the help

  • Hey man, I don't know about tiger barbs but I do know by putting a bigger filter inside of a tank will keep it clean enough that you would not need water changes weekly. (20-30 gallon filters) or dependign on the space you have you could simply get a pair of filters.(undergravel and power filter combo) I would advise not to over do it like i tried. (55 gallon filter in a guppy tank( BAD IDEA))

  • there mating u noob

  • 1) eggs are not being deposited into plants or any shelter. 2) they're two male tiger barbs, which have red tails and noses. they're fighting for hierarchy within the gang. look them up if you don't believe me, YOU RETARDED NOOB. GET OFF ME

  • Lol I have only one tiger barb, one convict, and one tiger oscar in my 36g tank

  • i got a small chinsese alge eater and how big to they get and how fast do they grow? he's like 1inch now.

  • in a 36 gallon tank with 7 tiger barbs and 4 zebras, will my small new chinese algae eater hurt its buddies once it grows in size.

  • yea it will since it becomes more aggressive as it gets older and bigger, trust me.

  • how noisy is the filter in a clod water fish tank

  • And wow, I just realized that you have all the fish in your tank that I want for mine! I just don't have a large enough tank yet...the rose line torpedo barb, and the red tail shark, and various color stains of the tiger...glorious.

  • thanks...good luck with your future fish. warning: the red tail shark is a territorial killer if you don't provide enough room (check out my videos of him), so i hope you can afford at least a 40 gallon for him to establish a territory of his own.

  • You have really good looking, healthy tigers!

  • OMG its not a fight !!! that is how they have sex!! and yes they lay eggs

lol you guys got alot to learn about fish!

  • THESE FIGHTING TWO ARE MALES,WHICH HAVE RED TAILS AND RED NOSES,OK. THEY'RE FIGHTING FOR DOMINANCE,RANK. if you notice, they're locking their mouths together like cichlids when they battle

i got 12 years and counting of aquarium fish experience

  • There fighting, DUH!!!

  • Haha those are 2 males fighting nathanwb123. And they don't have "sex" they spawn.

It seems that YOU are the one who needs to learn a lot about fish!

    =]

  • yes me i keep getting freaking different answers from people and i dont know which one is right

  • ok follow my advice since i got 13 years so far in fishkeeping:get 8 tiger barbs for your 10 gal. i kno its crowded a bit but their aggression will spread out, you see.you wouldn't want injured barbs. trust me on this!

  • Well tiger barbs are egg layers so your babies coming out of the dead mother story is BS.

  • SOMEONE PLEASE REPLY!!!! HI I AM PLANNING ON GETTING 5 OR MAYBE SIX TIGER bArbs FOR MY TEN GALLON> WILL THEY BE FINE IN A TEN GALLON FOR THEY're LIFETIME AND WILL THEY BE hAPPY??? BY THE WAY I AM NOT PLAnnING ON PUTTING ANY OTHER FISH IN THE TANK JUST THE BARBS.

  • you again?

  • I had over 6 tiger barbs in a 34litre tank. THey were all happy!

  • lol mine was pregnant so one killed the pregnant one but then the babys came out of the dead body it was awesome

  • TIger barbs arent livebearers. You made that up. They lay eggs, they dont have babys pop out of them like guppies do.

  • isn't that maybe overloading the tank? how big do they get anyway? i thought that might overload the tank?

  • but isnt that overloading the tank? how big do they get anyway? i thought that might be overloading the tank, is it?

  • yea,it's somewhat overloading, but(based on my experience) if you only get 5, a dominant barb(usually a male with the red tail/nose) will terrorize any weaker fish, and you'll be left with ragged/torn fins. So, with more, the aggression is spread out. besides, they get to be only 2.5 inches. GOOD LUCK!!!

  • Trust me,there'll always be one dominant fish,so get more to spread out the aggression. 8 is a good number even for your 10 gal!

  • which one is the umpire??

  • Oh Thank You Alote I Bort Them When They WAs A Little Baby Its Been A Month Now Seens I BOrt Them Thanks Alote For Helping

  • Thank You Soo Much But I Ant Still Sure They Cant All Me Females Can They ? And My Heating Temputre Is On 28 And The Food I Feed Them Is Tetra Min Flake Food When I Bort Them They Were All Colourful :( But Now There Light

  • you probably just got your tiger barbs, huh? it takes some time for them to establish in your tank and later they'll color up as they get older. just be on top on their care and they'll show healthy colors

  • Can You Help Me ive Got 4 Tiger Barbs And They still small Like Yours And They aLl Out Of Colour They Are All Ligh Black And Light Green Can You TEll Me Why Plz

  • check your water conditions, make sure your tank got ph 7, temp. 75-79 deg. F, ammonia, nitrates down, etc. feed them quality food like frozen bloodworms. btw, only male tiger barbs are colorful with red marks on their noses and tails. GOOD LUCK!!!

  • I going to get some tiger barbs soon along with some bristlenose catfish and i will probally put some real plants like java fern in there as well. I think fish are pretty cool.

  • i was unexperienced before and had 1 fighting fish 1 goldfish and 1 tiger barb now the guy at the pet store say fighting fishes wont attack other fish now he got along fine with the goldfish but the tiger barb love nipping at bother fins then i think the fighting fish killed the tiger barb then the fighting fish grew sick and turned from a bright red to all white and died 2 year later my goldfish died who had to be at least 2.5 inches long

  • I've grown really attached to my tiger barbs. I started with four of them, back in the day, and one of them has turned mostly black and is almost as tiny as the day I bought him. He is healthy as any of the other fish, but my partner and I tend to call him "Fall Out Boy," just because of his emo behaviour. Nice tank setup.

  • Thanks...you got a nice setup too and i'm sure your young tiger barbs will grow up nicely!

  • I tend not to keep any less then 6 of a type of fish at a time. I have never had problems with tiger barbs picking on other fish. In fact I have tiger barbs and guppies in the same tank right now. I also had half a dozen rainbow sharks and they where so busy with each other that the also left the other fish in the tank alone.

  • Oh man, I can't tell you how many problems I've had with the Tiger Barbs! They are NASTY! I remember we bought 2 giant leopard catfish and the next morning, we found one mauled to death and the other COMPLETELY missing

  • yea man they're like mini piranhas, but my shark killed them all when he got bigger and meaner

  • this stuff is the shit 4 realz but some better cam quality would be better

  • i got 4 fish in a 10 gallon aquarium, I probably will add one more, but it will be a cleaner, the 4 are tiger barbs. it is a small aquarium, but i would like to add some real plants, any suggestions?

  • that's coo! If your getting a cleaner,a good one is the clown pleco which i have and it only grows to about 4 inches. it scrubs the algae real well...the plants i got are fake but i had experience with java fern which is easy to care for and doesn't need a lot of light!

  • get a bigger tank they grow to about 3 in. they will fight over terratory

  • thanks, maybe that is why one died... now i have 3 tiger barb in a 10 gallon tank. :( he was a runt anyway... didn't see Blue's response 4 months ago, heh, glad you replied yugito! haven't bought a cleaner yet, but tank stays pretty clean will try the clown pleco and java fern if i get a bigger tank. will use 10 gallon as test tank. lets see if i can keep these alive for a few more months :)

  • my 6 tiger barbs died

  • i had a red tail shark sometime ago..their best left alone foreal..i had this dumbass idea of addinf guppies and the shark killed em'..but yeah, tiger barbs are cool..their more active and less boring

  • nice barbs, and golden barb, i have 1 they own

  • if you build up the school slowly and have a variety of sizes the barbs won't fight each other as much

  • they arent actually fighting either, their courting. You will probably have some fry soon. :)

  • that wasnt a real fight they were just nipping around at eachother.

  • It's still a fight

  • theres to many fish in that tank.

  • cihclids RULSSEE

  • how many total fish do you have in there?

  • 10 but all the tiger barbs eventually got killed by my mean shark! i replaced them with faster more streamlined fish that can easily avoid his aggressive chasing

  • The only shark I see in this video was the Redtail shark... I just got a redtail shark in the tank with my 50gallon tank. 2 green tiger barb, 2 albino barb, 3 drawf rainbow, 6 different types of platie... so the redtail shark is that aggressive?

  • My shark is hella aggressive, check out my other videos of him...could you post of video of your fish?

  • hah.. i love tiger barbs but mine are bastards! I cant wait to get videos of my fish tanks up here. I just started my group "as the fish tank turns" You should check it out
