This makes me incredibly sad. I was once a part of the charismatic movement (thankfully not to this extent), and it is ridiculous how much mental gymnastics a person has to do to believe this stuff - even the more subtle form I grew up with. The teaching was that if a person is sick or has any recurring sinful inclinations, that the he is not walking in the fullness of God. Therefore it led me to strive to a perfectionist view of life where if I was sick or distressed, I had to line up with God.
Why would God do this?! Scaring people into His loving arms?!?! This is not the work of God, but the work of sinful man! I shall pray for these poor, confused people.

Another whacked out church group complete with groupies. Those that cite the bible shame on you for promoting this. In-fact another well known and televised preacher that does similar practices was sued for these same types of practices.
Saddest thing is that this type of practice is spreading in the christian movement, a lot of fear preaching (end of days, etc) and people that claim to know the word but spread a message that the word never focuses on.

The Holy Trinity Brompton & its annexe St Pauls, Onslow Square (in London, UK) used to do the same. Crazy stuff happened, falling on the floor, bellowing, laughing, weird noises and just passing out when people waved their hands over heads. Sometimes it was less extreme. I checked online and they stopped doing it now, as far as I know.

If I was a preacher I dont think I would have the mentality or patience to deal with the level of demonic activity going on. I would be laughing and shocked at the same time. I believe that people like that really need Jesus because the devil can come at u in any way, shape, and form a lot of times we let the devil do what he wants to do but the Bible says "No weapon formed against me shall prosper". I do believe that if we keep our minds and our hearts stayed on Jesus we won't have to worry about the devil showing up and taking over us the devil is a liar and a deceiver but where the spirit of the Lord is there is liberty we must keep the devil out of our minds.
