@dukviper90 usually it's a given if your running more than 370-390rwhp that you are on forged/upgraded internals. Which I don't get why most people rather drop their money into rims and stupid mods and instead of getting big noticible mods and then do the little things. He should of gone with a gtm kit over the aps IMHO they are pure badass!
@crzygutrsnobrdr I've seen plenty of G owners not do internals with 400 whp. Eventually, i'm going to do internals too. I don't think i'll ever sell my car. I love it too much. when it starts giving me problems, rebuild time.
@dukviper90 there not safe after 390rwhp. 400 is pushing it stock. Me and plenty of other nissan/infinti enthusiasts can agree on that. Plus when I was building up my G sedan (6mt) It made me feel a lot better when I turned up the boost knowing Im not on stock internals.
@crzygutrsnobrdr It's not good but it won't break. You'll have to switch to a heavier oil like 10 50 but you'll be fine. The vortec supercharger will give you about 350 whp and it was designed to run reliably on stock internals. The biggest problem with the vQ's is not the piston but the rods. though i would change the pistons out anyways to get rid of the oil problem these damn vq's have if it even is the rings which i doubt it. I have an 03 G35 coupe 6mt with brembos and 18's.
@dukviper90 it might depending on how much boost you run. Like I said 370-390 on stock internals is where you want to be at and still be able to run reliable. I have a 06 g35 sedan with twin gt2876rs's and a full engine build. I did a low compression engine build before I even orded the turbo's. I never really had any oil problems with mine (or even heard of vq's having oil problems) But I switched to motul (high reccomended by local shops) and haven't had any problems
@crzygutrsnobrdr Use Mobile 1 0w 40. according to UOA testings for the VQ35DE series engines that's one of the best for the especially if you're a pretty aggressive driver. Another real good oil is Amsoil.
thinking about putting new rotors on my g35 do the slotted ones help i can get a cheap set for about as much as buying stock ones

@03basesedan
my 19"Volks weigh 1lb each more than my stockers. But i have an APS Twin Turbo making 445rwhp/407ft/lb now so it doesnt matter either way

@rh33409 did you blow it up yet? Those Vq's aren't designed to handle that much power reliably.

@dukviper90 not if you have forged pistons and rods.

@crzygutrsnobrdr He didn't say he had new internals now did he?
