Conclusion: what it means to be beautiful is to be skinny and very white. Colored people are not "beautiful," in Argentina. I can already tell.

So, have you been to Argentina ? I'm watching this video, I see no white people at all. They all look like mestizos to me.

No, it's a mainly white country. Mestizos are quite uncommon because the native population is very small (unlike Bolivia or Peru), there are few Africans (unlike Brazil) and most of the immigration was restricted to Europeans. The non white settlement in this area was to small to facilitate a really significant mestizo population.

And yeah, I was born in South America and traveled to pretty much all the countries in the region, including Argentina.

well, the darker people live in the ghettoes ? Those people do not look at all like Europeans to me. I know the middle class is white. How come the darker people look like mestizos then ?

Well, mestizos and indigenous are definitely the minority. I mean, they aren't tiny...mestizos and indigenous are at least 10% of the population.But I mean, relatively speaking, in comparison to other countries in the region, it's quite small.

And I don't want to give an impression that I don't like Argentina or anything. It's a wonderful country. But all countries have some issues and I think racial inequality is a big one in this country, that's all.

Thats what I was asking. Are the poor the mestizos? Because, they all seem to have dark skin. Has nothing to do with racism, i dont have any negative feelings towards Argentina. I was just curious. Dont take this the wrong way but, im a bit scared of going into countries where i will be persecuted, you know. Im sure you would feel the same way if you came to my neighborhood.

Yeah I know what you mean. Not all mestizos are poor, not all whites middle class or rich, but generally, mestizos tend to be poorer than whites.

And generally...no, you won't be treated badly or discriminated against like in other countries, trust me, being the "wrong" race in some countries, as a tourist, is really bad. But Argentina, from what I remember, it wasn't really like that...of course, we were just tourists and saw a shallow version of the country and I was young.
