Nice vid check out our youtube channel TheFamousGuys and subscribe. I will do the same for you. And Check out our most popular vid This is the start of awesome improv.
I can't seem to get that level of quality onmy D5000. I think it had something to do with the transfer to my computer because the video always looks great on the camera itself (and not just because the screen is smaller. It genuinely just looks crisper and sharper). Any tips?
@Anijac1412 USe quicktime to view them. Also make sure you always check the white balance to make sure all colors are correct. I make better videos using aperture priority. Dont go over iso 400 in the day. Manual focus is a great way to record to give that certain movie like quality where not everything is in focus like a camcorder. Make sure you are recording at 720P and not anything lower since lower quality will still look good on the lcd screen. But not a a CPU.
Hello, just a quick question. How where you able to adjust the ISO for video? I tried changing it and nothing would happen. it only worked for still images.
@xx74g5 With the d5000 you will have to set all AF and AFS lenses into manual focus. For AFS lenses its found on the side of the lense clearly labeled. For AF lenses I think its set on either lense or camera. then you use the other ring at the front to adjust focus.
hey man, how did you get your camera to focus while recording? you got your d5000 to focus at different depths! i'm trying to do that but i don't know how to. would you be able to tell me?
So far so good, the LCD is VERY useful. I'm about to post some driving stuff I did today, both with the stock lens and with a Zeiss prime... stay tuned!
How do you like it, I am planning to buy one too, mainly for the swivel LCD & HD video all backed by the reputed legendary Nikon Image quality , I was more of canon fan but they don't make a similar cam with the above mentioned amenities and at this low entry level price.
actually, canon just came out with the 500d T1i which has HD video capabilites and 15.1 megapixels with less rolling shutter than the D5000! for about $100 more than the Nikon D5000, just an update!
it doesn't have the Swivel LCD, which is very useful and important for my needs. Only major downfall is its resolution is only 230K pixels vs the 920k on the T1i.
I didn't think the swivel LCD was a big deal until I played with it. It's vital, and I'm glad Nikon and Panasonic are doing it now (Panny with the GH-1).
By the way, the main reasons we went with the Nikon were:
We own a ton of great Nikon glass
We don't own any 4/3rds lenses and the stock lens on the GH1 is crazy slow
The GH1 uses an EVF not a nice sharp optical viewfinder
That said, the GH1 is great too. I'm hoping Nikon releases a firmware upgrade to allow longer than 5 minute clips.
well.... you can use the 720p and be able to record for 20 minutes.... I haven't recorded at that HD level so i have no idea how clear it is... I prefer to use the highest image quality a camera can allow (meaning I use the 1080i which records for 5 min) ...
perfect

How do you do that?
I just bought the d5000, and doesn't understand anything about cameras at all, so I just want to ask you, how you do that?

If you do it too fast it makes you feel dizzy haha

Also if you get a mount for it with rails, then you can put a follow focus on it.

I have one but how do you manualy focus it like that during filming
WingChunRocks123 2 years ago
Assuming you're using the VR Lens (the one that comes with the camera itself), all you have to do is look at the lens and switch it from AF to MF.

great..
it can focus like a making of film!
hahahaha...
how much the price of the camera??
TheSaifulNizamShow 2 years ago
Yes, BUT- not autofocus. Which makes focusing more than a little tricky.

Professional Video doesn't use Autofocus either though!
