This is Haidakhan Babaji from 1970-1984. The Babaji mentioned by Paramahansa Yogananda is Maha Avatar Babaji. Two different Babajis.

I think he was taking up a lot of karma of his disciples and so many people who came to him on his own body and working it out. There are karmas that need to be lived for them to finish. he took their karmas onto his body to free them from sufferings. That probably was his secret of aging faster.

that is also possibility but it is certan that too much siting is his youth, meditating without food could have done serious damage into his internal organs.body needs constant moving otherwise he would begin poison itself.the sitting meditation masters if they dont too much breathing as seen die in very young age like lahiry mahasaya and so on.but if they would exercise lot of body, purify poisons trough breathing and walk a lot then they would long as long as they like.

Consider that perhaps he didn't "die" as people think of death. Perhaps he accomplished what he took that form to do and left it to merge into the God/Goddess/Consciousness. The Divine Universal Energy of which we are all One. He's the Eternal Babaji, who moves in and out of form at will. I experienced being in the presence of this Babaji and can only speak from my experience, which included glimpses of the Oneness. Jai Maha Maya Ki Jai!
