Was a great book. Good movie to altho they made the events a bit backwards. Fuck religion if all you see is a threat in an innocent book. Were not stupid fiction is fiction dipshit church u dnt rule the world nor its amazing stories
Pullman had the right to say whatever he wanted when he published this series. These were his views. He never commanded anyone or tried to persuade anyone to give up their religion. I'm neither Christian nor Atheist and I'm a fan of both His Dark Materials and The Chronicles of Narnia. If they make movies out of it, so what? They're not TRYING to offend Christians.
That's not fair... I thought people are free to choose their religion and belief... I think it has a good storyline and great graphics, the actors are great and the music is simply fantastic. Why should it be terminated?? That would discriminating! So every great but atheistic creations would be suppressed?? I just hope in the future people won't "disappear" because of having their own ideas!
Actually, there isnt a sequel because it unexpectedly became a box office bust. they didnt rake in the kind of money they had expected. In fact, because of the religious factor, the sales of the movie actually plummeted only weeks after it was released, which sucks because it had an all star cast and the storyline was authentic.
@collectiondude100 I will tell you. Never. Cause the books are sooooo atheum, talking about there's no god, that he's a farsant and all about and that can't be in movies, you know what will happen? xD
@collectiondude100 The thing is is that Christians and people of various other faiths may take it offensively. It's about atheism, and they probably don't like it.
@collectiondude100 The producer is desperate to make The Subtle Knife. Now that Potter has finished, perhaps a 3D rerelease of the Golden Compass with the missing ending reattached is in order.
I dont know a religion that break their own rules so often e.e
