Kanye west's 808's amd heart break album (sucked ass in my opinion just awful)

i'm not a big kanye fan to begin with, but this was just a lame attempt to be sophisticated and experimental.

It kinda reminded of some of linkin parks stuff from Reanimation, that wintery ambient sounding stuff,

except Reanimation is 100000000000000000000x more of a solid album than 808s n heartbreaks, no matter how much payola happens behind the scenes.

It's not dying! It's just that most of the great artists went underground away from all this auto-tuner, bubble gum, clubbing bullshit. Hip Hop is far from dead - mainstream "hip hop"? maybe. Most of the popular artists have become all show and no substance; it's all about auto-tuning, techno beats, and repetitive phrases. He didn't push boundaries, he just reinforced that awful image that is the recording industry. Today, the real rappers and b-boys can only be found in the basement.

I definitely agree that this album pushed the boundaries, but to credit the author of this video, most of the songs were just recycled ideas, sounded too much alike. That being said the good songs on this album were well worth it, most albums these days barely have even 1 good song. I also have to agree with with JustUs8663, mainstreem hiphop dying, sure because its all plagiarism, old songs with hiphop beats, but hip hop is far from dead. We shouldnt associate mainstreem crap to real hiphop.

Graduation. I figured out why I didn't like it as much. On Kanye's other 3 albums you see the human side of him ALOT. I never minded the cockiness of Kanye, because I believe that it's all just his gimmick to get people to notice his music. I don't think he is really like that. On Graduation, I think he got to the point where he was actually believing his own hype. A lot of his substance was left behind. I think the unfortunate events leading up to 808's brought him back to Earth.

You have to me a music head to really like 808's and Heartbreak. The composition of the shit was great. Street Lights reminded me of something my man John Mayer would sing. See You in My Nightmares was fire, I perform that song in my show. The album was great, period. Don't focus on the auto-tune.
