i had like a BIG problem...when i have shooted rigidbodies to some cloth they have flown through... it took me like 3 hours of testing and doing changes in cloth settings when i figured it out. THICKNESS. Thickness is the problem. Guy in the vid has thickness 0.001 becuase he has high poly meshes but when you just create Cloth in Assets in unity it is not so high poly...so after some testing i figured out that the optimal thickness is around 0.5 (for unity cloth 0.7 works exelent) --dzebna--
@CrazyShaneful Yes. The default interactive cloth uses a one side shader. You need to set Cull Off in the shader code to make it double sided. I reccomend only doing thisz with cloth as you do not need to render double sided on an object.
so theres a character on a cliff hes wearing a cloak he gets pushed of and futher down theres a piece of i dunno sharp metal poking out of the cliff could the cloak get snagged on the metal and rip??? plz reply :D...

@Maaarteh unity 3d is just the engine, the computer that you run the engine on needs to be fast. there just needs to be good scripter to code for climbing and animator to make it look good. the physics engine that ac uses is expensive but for most things i think physx could do just fine with some clever scripting.
@samm565 I replied because you haven't changed your oppinion, 've got no clue why I shouldn't reply. The engine actually is able of speeding up certain game elements so that with the same pc you can run a (graphically) better game; frosbite 1 and 2 for axample
@Maaarteh unity could handle it fine if the coder was good, if he/she could make good optimisations and use technologies like UMBRA which comes with unity3d pro, which can cull objects not in view, the scripter could also make a LOD system and a dynamic texture loader and unloader to make the best use of VRAM. Everything that ac has can be scripted, the reason why frostbite 2 looks better and runs faster is because there scripters have learnt more and used utilized some 3rd party technologies.
@Maaarteh with plugins unity could get better, also frostbite im guessing will have a lod system which would of been created by a scripter, very easy to do actually, and this simple script can make a game run a lot faster, it's harder work for the modellers and texturers and even animators, because making extra objects takes time. but it can help improve polycount. what makes frostbite maybe better is because they have intergrated these technologies into it like ANT and with unity plugins need..
@Maaarteh to be created to get better performance, but the engine itself, i think unity3d will be faster because there has been more people working on it for a longer time. But because not just dice have helped make frostbite, like ea sports created ANT (which is only availably for EA developers) it has capability of better looking games thanks to not just them working on it. so i guess the engine is better, because of this, but i think the assassins creed engine ain't so good compared to unity.
whats the best way so the cloth is visible from both sides(not like plane mesh)

Is the cloth on the flag one sided? If you look close eneugh you can see it is one sided.

I can see a can mesh with pressure set to really high and tearing factor set to high. Then when you hit it hard enough it dents :O
