Cold war politics !! Indian Air Force was desperate to buy something in the 80s to counter Pakistani F16s !! It shows the short sightedness of the Indian Air Force. Instead of concentrating on Indigenous programs, they went on shopping spree. Indian Navy concentrated on Indigenous Products and right now they are in a better position than Indian Army and Air Force.
